Relaciones internacionales

The direction of international relations trains professionals who understand how relations between states, international organizations and large companies are built and carry out practical work in this environment. The program relies on three pillars: political analysis, the foundations of international law and economics, and languages.

The essence of the profession is not to follow events, but to interpret them: what interests are behind the decision, what consequences will the agreement have, what are the real capabilities of the parties. The graduate performs this work through a document — a contract and a memorandum, an analytical note, a report, an official correspondence, a negotiation position. Therefore, the skills of writing and working with evidence in the program occupy a central place.

Why this direction

Expansion of External Relations. With the increase in activity of Uzbekistan in bilateral and multilateral formats, the demand for personnel capable of working with international document, negotiation and protocol is taking shape.
Regional agenda. Border and water-energy issues, transport and transit corridors, and trade liberalization processes in Central Asia each require legal and political analysis.
Consideration of the economy to the foreign market. Exports, investment agreements, international trade regimes and logistics chains create the need for international departments in companies.
Non-sector. Local offices of international organizations, donor projects, think tanks, and international cooperation departments of universities are a large labor market outside the civil service.
