Course Objective

To teach students the core concepts and principles of the international monetary and credit system and explain its role in global economic relations.

• To provide an understanding of the formation, development, and current structure of the international currency system;
• To explain the factors influencing exchange rate formation, methods of analysis, and management;
• To study the role of international financial institutions (IMF, World Bank, IFC, etc.) in intergovernmental lending processes;
• To highlight the significance of international financial flows in public and corporate economics and methods for their management and efficient use;
• To explain the role of international finance and credit mechanisms in global economic processes and the financial aspects of international economic integration;
• To develop students’ skills in practical methods and analytical tools used in international monetary and credit relations.

Course Tasks

To provide theoretical knowledge about international monetary and credit relations, their principles, mechanisms, and development directions.

To explain the functioning of national and international currency systems, factors influencing exchange rates, and management methods;

To study the structure, functions, and global roles of the World Bank, IMF, and European Central Bank;

To explain the types and mechanisms of international credit operations and how to manage credit at national and international levels;

To develop students' skills in analyzing, evaluating, and managing financial risks in international currency and credit relations;

To provide an understanding of the structure and analysis of the balance of payments and its role in national economies;

To develop analytical skills to evaluate the development trends of the international financial system and its role in global economic integration;

To provide knowledge of innovative instruments and technologies (e.g., cryptocurrencies) used in modern currency and credit operations.

Learning Outcomes

In terms of knowledge:

Students will understand and gain skills to analyze and manage the theoretical and practical aspects of international financial relations.
