Program Description
In the field of Philology and Teaching Languages: English Language,
Students acquire in-depth knowledge and practical skills in English language, literature, translation studies, and language teaching methodology. The main objective of the program is to prepare specialists who possess an excellent command of modern English and are capable of teaching, translating, and analyzing it.
Program Objectives
The curriculum aims to provide students with a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, training them as independent, creative, and competitive professionals capable of applying modern knowledge and technologies in their chosen field.
Learning Outcomes
During the four-year study program, students will:
- Communicate fluently in English and enhance their oral communication skills.
- Acquire academic and professional writing skills, including essays, research papers, and correspondence.
- Improve reading and listening comprehension of academic and daily texts.
- Gain a deeper understanding of the culture, history, and traditions of English-speaking countries.
- Master the theoretical foundations of English grammar, phonetics, lexicology, and stylistics.
- Develop intercultural communication competence.
- Cultivate artistic, aesthetic, and critical thinking through the study of English literature and culture.
- Gain independent translation and text analysis skills, performing professional-level translation work.
After completing the bachelor’s degree program in “Philology and Teaching Languages: English Language,” graduates may engage in the following professional activities:
– Conducting educational activities in accordance with their specialization within the system of general secondary, secondary specialized, and vocational education;
– Teaching the main and secondary foreign languages studied at educational institutions;
– Working as a head of department, methodologist, or in equivalent positions at educational institutions, ministries, and their affiliated departments and organizations implementing education in relevant fields;
– Working at intensive foreign language training centers;
– Working as translators in various governmental and non-governmental enterprises and organizations;
– Working as junior researchers in scientific research institutes specializing in the humanities;
– Working in mass media organizations in positions corresponding to their specialization;
– Having the opportunity to work in local self-governing bodies as well as in regional centers for spirituality and enlightenment.
