At the Is’hoqxon Ibrat Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages, another important international academic meeting was organized on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

At the initiative of the students of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, an online dialogue entitled “Language Relay: Kaluga – Namangan” was held in cooperation with Kaluga State University. The event was dedicated to the ideas of multilingualism, cultural diversity, and international mutual understanding.

During the event, popular academic presentations were delivered on the history, stages of development, and cultural layers of the Russian, Uzbek, Armenian, Chinese, and other languages. Through national speech formulas, set expressions, folklore elements, communication culture, and the symbolic meanings of words, students demonstrated that language serves not only as a means of communication but also as a carrier of cultural memory.

While presenting the Uzbek language, students of Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages particularly emphasized its role as a mother tongue, the language of the family, and a vehicle of spiritual heritage. The speeches provided scientific and cultural justification that language is a spiritual foundation passed down from generation to generation, primarily through the mother.

The presentations also highlighted diminutive and affectionate forms widely used in family speech, terms expressing love and closeness, as well as the role of folk songs and lullabies in emotional and social development. In the song and lullaby excerpts performed by the students, rhythm, melody, and repetition were shown to be natural mechanisms of early speech development.

This meeting produced two significant outcomes:
— it strengthened students’ linguistic knowledge, intercultural communication, and public speaking skills;
— it contributed to the development of international humanitarian cooperation and the formation of an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration.
