A New Information and Resource Center Commissioned at the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies

Today, the opening ceremony of a new Information and Resource Center was held on the institute’s campus with the participation of students, faculty members, and young researchers. The event was opened by the Rector of the institute, Tahirjon Zakirovich Sultanov. During the ceremony, the Deputy Governor of Andijan region for youth policy, social development, and spiritual-educational affairs, Komiljon Sobirovich Komilov, emphasized the center’s importance in enhancing youth knowledge and promoting a culture of reading.

The new center is a modern continuation of the institute’s library, which has been operating since 1964. It consists of 5 departments and 20 qualified staff members and provides professors, students, doctoral candidates, and researchers with 145,480 copies of literature covering 8,274 titles. Of these, 87,963 copies (3,991 titles) are учебные materials, 23,887 copies (2,269 titles) are scientific literature, 822 copies (295 titles) are foreign publications, and 5,696 copies (1,469 titles) are fiction works.

The center is also enriched with electronic resources, including more than 14,713 electronic documents, over 8,000 digitized books, 72 computers, and high-speed internet access. The reading halls can accommodate more than 220 students at the same time and are equipped with modern учебные materials, fiction, socio-political literature, and computer facilities.

The center serves as an important scientific and educational hub for students and faculty members, contributing to the development of independent learning, research activities, and the promotion of a strong reading culture.
