History of the department:

The Department of "Social Sciences and Art Studies" was established in the 2022-2023 academic year within the Faculty of Social and Humanities. Doctor of philosophy in political sciences Saidkulov Nuriddin Akramkulovich is currently working as the head of the department.

Today, the department has "60112100-National idea, foundations of spirituality and legal education", "60111200-Fine arts and engineering graphics", "60111300-Music education", "60111000-Geography and economic knowledge Qualified personnel are being trained in the Bachelor's program.

The main research topics of the "Social Sciences and Art Studies" department:

1. "Factors, directions and mechanisms of formation of youth political culture in new Uzbekistan"

2. "A unique feature of forming the worldview of young people in the media space"

3. "Pedagogical aspects of the formation of music and art culture in young people"

4. "A unique feature of the economic landscape of Mirzachol"

Scientific activities of the department:

Professors-teachers of the department: in 2022 N. Saidkulov "Mechanisms of formation of political culture by young people based on an innovative and creative approach", in 2022 U. Mirzaliyev "Specific features of historical and demographic processes in Uzbekistan (Syr Darya and Jizzakh regions) (for example, 1956-2020)", in 2021 I.Djurayev on the topic "Migration of Central Asian herding communities to the south and early ontogenetic processes in South Turan (based on the analysis of material culture and scientific literature of the Bornza-early Iron Age)", in 2020 R. .Khairov defended their dissertations (PhD) on the topic "Scientific-methodical foundations of individual approach to students in fine arts classes".

In addition, the monograph "Individual approach to students in fine art classes" by R. Khairov, assistant professor of the department (2021), the study guide "Decorative painting" (2022), I. Djurayev's "Uzbek The first stage of ethnogenesis of the people" monograph (2021) was published.

Today, the members of the department have prepared teaching-methodical sets of more than 20 subjects on the basis of modern information technologies. To date, more than 150 scientific articles of the department's members have been published. A number of pamphlets by the teachers of the department serve as a guide for students and teachers of higher educational institutions, technical institutes, lyceums and schools.

Small schools such as "Young Propagandists" (head - N. Tursinkulov), "Fine Art" (head - N. Jumaboyev), "Young Lawyers" (head - Kh. Yarbayev) operate under the department.

Scientific cooperation and information resource base of the department:

The Department of "Social Sciences and Art Studies" cooperates closely with the relevant departments of Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute named after Nizomi, Institute of History of Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, Gulistan State University, jointly organizes scientific conferences and seminars. In addition, he has established a close relationship with the Council of Spirituality and Enlightenment of the Republic.

The department cooperates with the Department of Public Education, Pre-School Education Department, Main Employment Department of the Syrdarya Region, Spiritual Enlightenment Center, Academic Lyceums in the Syrdarya Region on qualification and pedagogical practice.

The Department of teaching Uzbek language and languages is functioning from September 5, 2022. The department offers the following undergraduate majors:
 60111400-Uzbek language and literature
 60111500 – native language and literature (Kazakh language and literature)
 60111700-Russian language in foreign language groups 
 60111800-foreign language and literature (English language and literature)

In the current academic year, 44 professors and teachers are working in kafdra. Of these, 22 are employed in the primary state, and the other 22 are as seats. The scientific potential compared to the main state is 19%.
The main scientific research topic of the department is called "current problems of modern linguistics and literary studies" , all professors and teachers carry out scientific research in the following areas related to this main research topic of the Department:
 Technologies for the formation of professional competence in future educators.
 Current problems of modern linguistics.
 Current problems of modern literary studies.

During the activities of the department by professors and teachers of the Department 
- 3 textbooks;
- 6 tutorials;
- 1 monograph;
- 4 methodological manuals were prepared and published.
    Also, in addition to the plan, more than 10 methodological guidelines have been prepared and published by professors for educational training independent of subjects.
In order to increase the scientific potential of the department, by the end of 2024, 1 of the professors and teachers of the department are scheduled to defend the DSC and 4 (PhD) dissertations.
The department conducts cooperation with several foreign higher educational institutions. In particular, in the academic year 2023-2024, 2 specialists of the higher category Yerzhanova Saule Baymurzayevna and Bekkojanova Gulnar Kismatollayevna from the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi (Kazakhstan) visited and gave master classes to the students of the department in the amount of 60 hours. In turn, associate professor of the Department Jabborova Dilbar Darmonovna returned after an internship at this educational institution.
Of the Department's specialists, 6 have a C1 level certificate in English, 7 have a C1 level Certificate in Russian, 1 has a B2 level Certificate in French, 2 has a B2 level certificate in Turkish

 Improving the methodology of teaching mathematics and Computer Science in the system of continuous education. 
 Improving the methodology of teaching Biological Sciences in the system of continuous education.
