Quality of education

Since gaining independence in 1991, Uzbekistan has made notable strides in expanding access to higher education and improving its quality. The Government is prioritizing education reform, allocating significant resources and implementing initiatives such as the Concept for the Development of Uzbekistan's Higher Education System until 2030. This plan is aimed at improving curricula, training faculty, research and international cooperation.
Some key aspects related to the quality of education in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
1. Accreditation and quality assurance.
Accreditation is necessary to assess the overall effectiveness of an educational institution, including its educational programs, teacher qualifications, infrastructure and student support services. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation oversees the accreditation of universities and institutes in the country.  By adhering to accreditation standards, educational institutions demonstrate their commitment to maintaining high quality education.
2. Qualification of the teaching staff.
Efforts are being made in Uzbekistan to improve the qualifications of teaching staff by encouraging professors to obtain academic degrees, participate in research, professional development programs and international cooperation. In addition, there are a large number of scientists and researchers in the country, in fields such as STEM (especially in medicine, engineering and mathematics). Higher education institutions that prioritize research contribute to the creation of knowledge and innovation, thereby improving the overall quality of education.
3. International cooperation and exchange programs.
By cooperating with well-known foreign universities and participating in student exchange initiatives, Uzbek universities can introduce their students and teachers to a variety of perspectives and best practices from around the world. Such an impact can enrich the learning experience and provide access to modern resources (technologies).
4. Focus on the employment of graduates.
The country pays great attention to ensuring that young professionals are well prepared for the labor market. This process involves collaboration with industries, the provision of internships and the alignment of training programs with the skills required by employers.
