On October 23-27, 2025, the International Olympiad in Mathematics named after “Muhammad al-Khorezmi” was held in Karakalpakstan. More than 200 students from about 50 higher educational institutions took part in the Olympiad. Students of the Faculty of Mathematics of Samarkand State University won 2 gold medals (Davlat Kamoliddinov and Abdulaziz Komilov) and 2 silver medals (Bobomurod Abdurahmonov and Otabek Zaripov) and took 1st place in the overall score. The winners were awarded by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan Amanbay Orinbayev and the Director of the Institute of Mathematics named after V.I. Romanovsky AСRUz, Hero of the Republic of Uzbekistan, academician Shavkat Ayupov.

The Republican Physics Olympiad was held at the Institute of Engineering Physics of Samarkand State University... This scientific Olympiad was attended by about 50 students who registered through the olimpiada.edu.uz platform of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The Olympics were held in two stages. At the first stage, participants tested their knowledge in a test consisting of 50 questions. Each correct answer was worth one point. Information about the scores of students in the 1st round was posted on the electronic platform olympiad.edu.uz within 1 hour after the end of testing. Also, students who answered 70% of the test questions in round 1 (scoring 35 points out of 50) were transferred to the next round of stage 2. In the second stage, the participants performed laboratory exercises. The task was given 120 minutes. In the practical part, 1 task is given for each subject and is evaluated according to a 50-point grading system. In order to ensure transparency, the Olympics were recorded by a video surveillance camera. According to the final results, the following students took high places and got the opportunity to study at the master's program on the basis of a state grant: 1st place - Sohibjamol Mirzakandova, student of the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute; 2nd place - Dilshod Sharipov, student of Samarkand State University; 3rd place - Sarvar Amirov, student of the Tashkent State Pedagogical University. Also, students who actively participated in the Olympiad were awarded with memorable gifts from Samarkand State University.

Samarkand State University hosted the International Olympiad... "XIX International Olympiad in Fundamental Sciences" was held at Samarkand State University by the House of Teachers of the Ural Federal District of Russia. In total, 60 students of the 35th and 45th secondary schools of Samarkand took part in the prestigious Olympiad. SamSU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Professor Akmal Akhatov opened the conference with an introductory speech and wished the participants good luck. Elena Nasibulina, an expert of the House of Teachers of the Ural Federal District of Russia, participated as a judge of the Olympiad. Tests were given to schoolchildren in just 10 subjects: history, social studies, national languages (English, German, Russian, French), literature, mathematics, physics, computer science, geography, biology, chemistry. At the end of the Olympiad, schoolchildren who achieved high results were awarded certificates and special medals.

In 2020, Samarkand State Medical Institute(SGMI) organized and successfully hosted the International Student Medical Olympiad. This event was an important event in the life of medical students and brought together participants from different countries. The Olympiad is dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of Abu Ali ibn Sina, a great scholar also known as Avicenna. It was held with the aim of improving the quality of medical education, developing professional skills, as well as sharing experience and knowledge among medical students around the world. More than 40 countries participated in the Olympics, including teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Central Asian countries and many others. Participants competed in a variety of disciplines including surgery, therapy, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, anesthesiology, resuscitation, psychiatry, and Infectious Diseases. The solemn opening of the Olympics took place at the Samarkand State Medical Institute. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, embassies of different countries, as well as prominent scientists and teachers of medical universities. During the Olympics, students took an active part in theoretical and practical assignments.
