About the university
Tashkent State Law University (TSUL) is a basic higher educational and scientific-methodological organization in Uzbekistan for the teaching of legal personnel.
The history of the high school is closely related to the development of the National School of law in our state and the names of such prominent mature legal scholars as Khadicha Sulaymanova, Khojiakbar Rakhmonkulov, Boris Blinder, Georgy Sarkisyans, Anvar Agzamkhodjayev, Shavkat Urazaev, Shoakbar Shoakhmedov, Gafur Abdumazhidov, Ikrom Zokirov, as well as many other lawyers who have made a significant contribution to our national jurisprudence.
On August 15, 1991, by a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, Tashkent State University was renamed Tashkent State Law Institute.
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 28, 2013, the Tashkent State Law Institute was transformed into the Tashkent State Law University.
From the very beginning of its activity as an independent educational and research institution, the University has been actively introducing new pedagogical technologies into the educational process to this day, while maintaining long-standing traditions, conducts fundamental and scientific research on topical issues of lawmaking and its application, as well as carries out extensive spiritual and educational activities aimed at improving legal awareness and legal culture in society.
Tashkent State Law University trains specialists at the level of bachelors, masters, doctoral students and independent applicants.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 29, 2020 5987 “On additional measures to radically improve legal education and science in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the organizational structure of TSUL was revised and new faculties and structural units were created.
Currently, Tashkent State Law University has 5 faculties:
1. Public law
2. Criminal justice
3. Private law
4. International law and comparative law
5. Magistracy and part-time education.

Opportunities for International Students
Tashkent State University of law (referred to as TSUL) extends support to all international undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, irrespective of their citizenship or current immigration status. As an international student enrolled at TSUL, you have access to summer and winter research, study, or travel opportunities. Upon graduation, avenues for scientific research for doctoral studies are available.
TSUL provides comprehensive assistance to foreign students, including the issuance of visa documents, preparation of invitation letters, facilitation of entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan, and local registration. Accommodation in university dormitories is arranged for foreign students, and assistance is offered in finding rental housing for those preferring separate apartments.
Moreover, TSUL offers cultural immersion experiences, allowing foreign students to explore Uzbekistan's rich heritage through organized travel programs to historical and cultural cities across the republic.
Participation in educational, research, and academic exchange programs with TSUL's international partner universities is encouraged for all students, including foreigners. Doctoral students can engage in academic programs for scientific research at prestigious foreign universities worldwide.
English-language courses are available in all TSUL faculties, providing foreign students with opportunities to study in English. Over ten foreign professors contribute to these courses.
TSUL has established the Center for the Study of Japanese Language and Law and the Center for the Study of German Law. Bachelor's program students, including foreign nationals, can access these centers to study Japanese or German and collaborate on scientific research with foreign experts.

International partnerships
Nowadays, TSUL has established partnerships with 91 foreign higher education institutions and organizations.
Within the framework of international cooperation, an agreement was reached with 10 foreign higher education institutions and 2 foreign organizations during 2023. Of these, with the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies at the University of Oxford in the UK (07/19/2023) and the Durham School of Law (07/15/2023), with the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in the Federal Republic of Germany (07/12/2023) and the University of Wismar (10/17/2023), with the South- Western University of Politics and Law (05/19/2023), Fudan University (05/17/2023) and Shanghai University (05/18/2023), with the Hanoi Law School of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (10/30/2023).
Academic mobility
As part of the academic exchange, in the 1st semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, 66 students were sent to study at partner higher education institutions in Poland, Lithuania, Germany, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Japan, as well as in the 2nd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, 115 out of 350 students successfully passed the selection programs for academic mobility and They were sent to higher educational institutions in Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Japan, and Belarus.
In particular, cooperation has been established with the international law firm Duan&Duan of the China (05/19/2023).
In addition, cooperation with the University of Liverpool in the UK in the field of education and research has been strengthened, work is underway to create joint educational projects for LLM programs, provide benefits for admission to the Master's degree at Liverpool University for graduates of TSUL, create a “Center for English Law Studies” at TSUL, attract professors and teachers to TSUL, it was separately noted that in cooperation, a draft memorandum of understanding was developed with the aim of creating a "Summer School" and submitted to the management.

Opportunities for students
The primary link of the Youth Union at Tashkent State University of Law is a youth organization that encourages students to be active, involved, explain the role and responsibilities of youth in modern society, be active in each direction of 5 important initiatives, and at the same time, this organization simultaneously protects the interests of young people. Carries out work related to the problems of obtaining education, suggestions and complaints of young people, demonstrating their talents, preventing crime and delinquency among young people.
