The faculty’s activities are carried out in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated February 7, 2017, No. PF-4947, “On the Strategy of Action for Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the Resolution No. PQ-2909, dated April 20, 2017, “On Measures to Further Develop the Higher Education System,” the Resolution No. PQ-3151, dated July 27, 2017, “On Measures to Expand the Participation of Sectors of the Economy in Improving the Quality of Higher Education Specialists,” the Resolution No. PQ-3775, dated June 5, 2018, “On Additional Measures to Improve the Quality of Education in Higher Educational Institutions,” the Decree No. PF-5847, dated October 8, 2019, “On Approval of the Concept of Developing the Higher Education System in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030,” and other normative-legal documents. The faculty’s activity is aimed at preparing highly qualified specialists for higher education, general secondary education, and the social sector. The faculty was established in 1930 as part of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute. Currently, 84 professors and teachers work at the faculty, and 1,294 students are enrolled. Achievements of the Faculty: Special attention is given to the preparation of textbooks, monographs, educational-methodical manuals, and collections of teaching materials for the disciplines. The created electronic collections are regularly placed on the Bukhara State University’s information resources center, the ZiyoNet network, and the faculty website. Over the past 3 years, professors and teachers have published 2 textbooks, 3 monographs, 4 educational manuals, 21 educational-methodical manuals, and more than 100 articles and theses. In 2018, professors published 5 scientific articles in foreign journals with impact factors, contributing significantly to the university’s ranking. During these years, the faculty organized 1 international and 3 national scientific-practical conferences. The involvement of talented students in scientific research has been well-established. Z.E. Mustafayeva, a student of group 1-1MAT-15, was awarded the Ulugbek State Scholarship in 2018. The team of talented students from the Faculty of Mathematics participated in the International Olympiad of Young Mathematicians named after al-Khwarizmi, held from October 28-30, 2018, in Urgench, where team member Sobir Boymurodov received the “Honorable Mention” award.

History of the Faculty: The faculty team operates in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Education and the decision of the President of the Republic on further development of higher education. The faculty’s activity is focused on training highly qualified specialists for higher education, vocational education, general secondary and specialized secondary educational institutions, as well as the agriculture and processing industries. In accordance with the rector’s order No. 817-SH dated September 3, 2019, the "Natural Sciences" faculty was divided into two faculties: "Natural Sciences" and "Agronomy and Biotechnology." The faculty has been functioning as one of the leading teams at Bukhara State University since February 2020, headed by PhD, Professor Hafiza To’ymurodovna Artikova. Currently, the faculty operates with 4 departments: "Botany and Plant Physiology," "Zoology and General Biology," "Biotechnology and Food Safety," and "Agronomy and Soil Science."

Achievements of the Faculty: The faculty has established the CHLORELLA Excel Group LLC, BukhSU Scientific Biotechnology Unit, Farmers Council, and Cotton Centers. Special attention is given to the preparation of educational literature, monographs, teaching-methodical manuals, and compilations. Created electronic materials are regularly posted on Bukhara State University’s information resource center, ZiyoNet network, and the faculty’s website. Over the past three years, professors and lecturers have published 6 textbooks, 10 monographs, 10 teaching manuals, 18 teaching-methodical guides, and more than 100 articles and theses. Notably, between 2021 and 2023, 20 scientific articles were published in international journals with impact factors, contributing significantly to the university’s ranking. The faculty organized one international and three national scientific-practical conferences. The involvement of talented students in research work is also actively promoted. In 2021, student Dilsora Atoyeva (group 13.3-18) became the winner of the President's State Scholarship.

History and Law Faculty
The establishment of the History Faculty coincides with the opening of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute (now BukhDU) in 1930. Four departments were opened: Physics-Mathematics, Chemistry-Biology, Philology, and History & Social Sciences. Some of the first students admitted were history majors. In 1934, an independent History Faculty was founded based on the "History and Social Studies" department. The main goal of the faculty was to train teachers in history and social sciences for secondary schools. In the early years, subjects such as the history of the VKP (b), the history of the USSR, the history of the Comintern, general history, philosophy, and pedagogy were taught.
Until the mid-1960s, the History Faculty had branches in Qarshi and Termez, which trained specialists for middle, secondary, and higher education institutions in the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions.
On April 5, 2018, the History Faculty was reorganized into the Faculty of History and Cultural Heritage. Since August 1, 2019, the dean of the faculty has been Jamshed Rahmatilloyevich Juraev. In August 2022, the faculty name was changed to the Faculty of History and Law. The faculty now includes 5 departments: Department of Archaeology and History of Bukhara, Department of World History, Department of Jurisprudence and Social-Political Sciences, Department of Islamic History and Source Studies, Department of Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology. Currently, around 2000 students are enrolled.

  Faculty Achievements:
  The faculty focuses on the creation of educational textbooks, monographs, methodical guides, and subject curricula. Over the last three years, faculty members have published 10 textbooks, 30 monographs, 20 educational manuals, and over 150 articles and abstracts. The faculty has also organized 5 international and 10 national scientific-practical conferences. Talented students have been actively involved in research, and 4 students received state scholarships from 2019 to 2022.

The faculty's activities are aimed at preparing highly qualified specialists required for higher education, general secondary education, and the social sphere. The faculty was established as part of the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute in 1930 and began its activities in 1962 based on the Foreign Languages Department. In 1967, at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Y. Gulkarov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, led the department, which included the English, German, and French language departments.

The scientific potential of the faculty has been increasing year by year, and the number of students and graduates is growing.

International Cooperation in Scientific Research:

It is well known that the demand for foreign languages is increasing in Uzbekistan, and the teaching of foreign languages at universities is being fundamentally improved. The faculty is actively working to strengthen cooperation with foreign universities and institutions, including the U.S. Embassy, the British Council, the French Embassy in Uzbekistan, the French Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, the U.S. universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, Oregon, Texas, and many others.

According to the order of the Rector of Bukhara State University No. 531-U dated December 31, 2016, the Faculty of Social Economics (established as the Faculty of Economics in 1996) was reorganized into the Faculty of Economics and Tourism.
Until 2014, the faculty was led by the founders of the department: PhD, Professor B.N. Navrozzoda, later by Doctor of Economics, Professor D.Q. Durdiev, PhD, H.O. Rakhmonov, PhD, Associate Professor M.A. Oripov, and PhD, A.T. Juraev.
By the order of the Rector of Bukhara State University No. 256-U dated August 25, 2014, the Faculty of Social Economics (established in 1996 as the Faculty of Economics) and the Faculty of History (established in 1930 as part of the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute) were merged into a single entity called the Faculty of Social Economics.
After becoming the Faculty of Economics and Tourism, the department was headed by PhD, Associate Professor Abror Turobovich Juraev.
Currently, the Faculty of Economics and Tourism is one of the leading departments at Bukhara State University, and since August 2019, it has been led by PhD, Associate Professor Dilshod Shoyimardonkulovich Yavmutov.
The faculty operates in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan on education, and the decree of the President on measures to further develop the system of higher education. The faculty's work is aimed at training highly qualified specialists required by higher education, vocational education, general secondary and secondary specialized educational institutions, and social sectors.
Currently, the faculty has five departments, namely: "Economics," "Marketing and Management," "Tourism and Hotel Management," "Agrobusiness and Logistics," and "Accounting and Statistics." There are 13 educational directions and 6 specializations, with full-time, part-time, and evening modes of study. In total, there are 69 professors and teaching staff. Among them, 17 (24.6%) have academic degrees, while 52 (75.4%) are non-degree staff.
The faculty actively implements the 2030 Concept for the Development of Uzbekistan's Higher Education System, focusing on quality improvement in education, competitive training of personnel, effective organization of scientific and innovative activities, and the development of international cooperation in line with industry demands. Medium- and long-term steps have been developed, with programs and comprehensive measures specific to the sector.
In particular, Faculty Dean D.Sh. Yavmutov has participated in EU grants under the TEMPUS, ERASMUS+, and PASCH programs, contributing to the modernization of Uzbekistan's educational processes. He is currently involved in the Erasmus+ BioEcUz project “Sustainable Development of the Bioeconomy in Uzbekistan.”
He also contributed to the applied research project OT-А-QX-2018-22 at Bukhara State University titled “Enhancing the Economic Efficiency of Livestock Production by Developing the Feed Base of Livestock (as an example of the Bukhara region)” for 2018-2020.
Additionally, he coordinated the III International Congress of Social Sciences INCSOS-2018, as well as international scientific congresses SOCIETY OF AMBIENT INTELLIGENCE 2020 and 2021 (III-ISC-2020, IV-ISC-2021), ensuring a high standard for these events.

Cooperation with Foreign Higher Education Institutions and Scientific Organizations

The faculty has established model international relations with many leading higher educational institutions for scientific research and professional development, including the University of Santiago de Compostela, Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Free University of Brussels (Belgium), Rovaniemi University (Finland), and Thessaloniki University of Applied Sciences (Greece). Through the TEMPUS and ERASMUS MUNDUS programs of the European Commission, 38 students have studied abroad from 2011 to 2021, with 17 researchers and 12 professors conducting scientific research. Six talented students regularly participate and achieve victories in competitions organized by the UN Uzbekistan office.
The faculty also cooperates with the Tashkent State University of Economics and the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service for retraining and professional development.
Ziyodulla Nurov successfully defended his dissertation in a specialized council of leading economists in Italy, earning a PhD in economics. Under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program, he was sent to the University of Aquila in Italy (ranked in the 501-600 group by Times), where his research garnered interest, resulting in the offer of co-supervision for his PhD dissertation. The dissertation is supervised by Professor Luigi Bigiero from Aquila University and Abror Juraev from Bukhara State University.
In a ceremony at the university’s academic council, university rector O. Khamidov awarded Ziyodulla Nurov his PhD diploma, wishing him success in future scientific endeavors.
Bukhara State University has partnerships with over 10 prestigious universities and research institutes across Europe and Asia, enabling experience exchanges with European universities. Partnerships have been established with Madrid Open University, Adam Mickevicz University in Poland, and Santiago de Compostela University in Spain.

History of the Faculty of Philology

The Faculty of Philology was established in 1930, and the Faculty of Foreign Languages in 1962. From 1949 to 1970, it was named the History-Philology Faculty, from 1970 to 1972, it was known as the Uzbek Philology and Foreign Languages Faculty, from 1972 to 1978, as the Uzbek Philology and History Faculty, and from 1973 to 1993, it was again called the Uzbek Philology and Foreign Languages Faculty. From 1989 to 1999, it operated under the name of the Uzbek, Tajik Philology and Foreign Languages Faculty. In 1995–1996, it was merged with the Philological Educational Center. From May 2, 1996, until the 1998-1999 academic year, it was reorganized under the name of the Uzbek, Tajik Philology Faculty. Since 2009, it has been operating under the name of the Faculty of Philology. Over the last 30 years, individuals such as M. Abdurakhmonov, T. Qorayev, E. Qilichev, S. Saidov, M. Bozorov, Z. Toshev, B. Ahmedov, R. Vohidov, S. Azimov, Q. To'xsanov, R. Bobokalonov, and A. Haydarov have served as deans. Currently, the faculty is led by Doctor of Philology, D. Z. Rajabov.

The faculty’s intellectual and spiritual potential has been greatly influenced by professors and educators like M. Mirzaev, S. Aliyev, A. Abdullayev, V. Egamberdiyev, O. Safarov, H. Nematov, A. Gulomov, O. Rasulova, H. Zikriyeva, M. Qosimova, Z. Husainova, N. Shukrullayev, L. Mavrina, M. Alimova, M. Qosimov, Z. Hasanova, and Yu. Khon, as well as their students.

Currently, the faculty offers bachelor’s degrees in specialties such as Philology and Language Teaching (Uzbek Language), Philology and Language Teaching (Russian Language), Native Language and Literature (for non-native speakers), Philology and Language Teaching (Tajik Language), Journalism: Journalism in Print Media, Information Service and Public Relations, Literary Source Studies and Textology. Master's degrees are offered in Linguistics (Uzbek Language), Literary Studies (Uzbek Literature), Linguistics (Russian Language), Literary Studies (Russian Literature), Literary Source Studies, and Textology.

The faculty includes four departments: Uzbek Language and Literature (headed by PhD in Philology, H. Eshonqulov), Uzbek Linguistics (headed by PhD in Philology, Associate Professor A. Ahmedov), Russian Linguistics (headed by O. Nosirov), and Russian Literary Studies (headed by L. Nigmatova). These departments employ 86 professors and teachers, including 20 PhD professors, 16 associate professors, and 40 highly qualified teachers who provide instruction to students.

In the past five years, the following professors received the title of Professor: D. O’rayeva (2018), Sh. Ahmedova (2018), D. Quvvatova (2021) from the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature, and M. Q. Abuzalova (2020), Yo. S. Saidov (2021) from the Department of Uzbek Linguistics.

Between 2012 and 2016, practical work was carried out within the framework of the state grant project F-1-06 “The Synthesis of Western and Eastern Literary Traditions in Uzbek Literature during the Independence Era” (Project leader: D. O’rayeva). In 2020, the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the "Women Scientists Grant," and an applied project titled "Creating an Electronic Platform for Medical Terminology" was created, with research currently being conducted on this project for the years 2021-2023 (Project leader: M. Abuzalova).

Since 2020, it has been a significant milestone for the faculty to have established a Scientific Council with the specialties of 10.00.01 – Uzbek Language and 10.00.02 – Uzbek Literature (DSc.03.04.06.2021.Fil.72.09). Several researchers have already defended their dissertations.

History of the Faculty of Arts and Pedagogy
As you turn the pages of the history of the faculty, you undoubtedly feel a sense of pride. Many students who once stepped into this institution with hope have now become skilled educators. They are not only experts but also carriers of moral values and promoters of enlightenment. In fact, all the educational and training work being carried out today aims at developing a sense of beauty in students, shaping their high aesthetic taste, fostering their moral interests, and ensuring that they grow into well-rounded individuals.

The faculty's activities are carried out in accordance with the legal and regulatory documents such as the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Action Strategy for Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan" (PF-4947) and others.

The Department of "Drawing and Sketching" was established at the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute's Department of Primary Education in 1971. In 1974, the department was transformed into the Faculty of Fine Arts and was headed by Dean J. Yodgorov. From 1974 to 2000, the faculty was named "Fine Graphics," and from 2000 to 2005, it was called "Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics." From 2005 to 2010, after the addition of the music education department, the name was changed to "Fine Arts and Music." In 2019, the faculty was named the "Faculty of Art History." Currently, the faculty offers departments in Fine and Applied Arts, as well as Music Performance and Culture, with 63 professors and 5 tutors.

The faculty has scientific collaborations not only with universities in Uzbekistan but also with foreign institutions, such as Belgorod State University (Russia), Gjelskiy State University (Russia), and the University of Islamic Sciences in Malaysia.

In the last 3 years, the faculty has published 5 textbooks, 4 monographs, 8 educational guides, and over 100 articles and theses. In particular, 10 scientific papers have been published in foreign journals with impact factors, contributing to the university's ranking.

Faculty of Sports Activities and Pedagogy

In 1964, the Department of Physical Culture was established as part of the Pedagogical Faculty of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute, with one group of students admitted. Looking back at the history of the faculty, it was initially founded with only one department – “Fundamentals of Physical Education Theory and Gymnastics.” Currently, there are five departments in the Faculty of Sports Activities and Pedagogy. The departments were led by prominent educators in physical education and training, including A. Atoyev, G. Krivoshlikov, G. Zverov, A. Aleksandrovskiy, G. Shapavalova, I. Yusupov, R. Khokhlova, and K. Rajabov, who contributed significantly to the faculty and eventually retired. Today, the faculty continues to have many prominent professors and trainers. In Sambo wrestling, coaches such as S. Qurbonov, F. Khaliqov, I. Turobov, Q. Toshev, and in cycling, G. Shamanyev, V. Kurkina, Sh. Vafoyev, L. Shuliko, I. Ashurov, and B. Bozorov have participated in Uzbekistan, Asian, and World Championships, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals and spreading the reputation of the faculty. Currently, the faculty has five active departments: "Theory and Methodology of Sports," "Sports Activities," and "Pedagogy." From 1991-2015, the faculty organized 18 national scientific-practical conferences. During this time, eight faculty members defended their candidate dissertations, and two defended doctoral dissertations. The department has a "Young Pedagogue" club and a "Teaching Technologies and Pedagogical Innovations" center. Since 2000, the journal "Pedagogical Skills" has been operating. The department also collaborates with the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture in Russia. Since 2016, the department has been led by Professor Sh. Sh. Olimov, a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. During his leadership, the department has significantly improved its academic, scientific, and cultural activities. Students of the Bachelor's program in Pedagogy-Psychology have been winners in the national pedagogy Olympiad every year from 2016 to 2021. The scientific potential of the faculty has increased by over 45%. In the last five years, more than 40 textbooks and manuals have been created, and more than 200 teaching aids have been published. International cooperation has also expanded, particularly with the Moscow State Pedagogical University, Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, and the South Ural State Pedagogical University. Currently, 87 professors and teachers work at the faculty. Over the past three years, faculty members have published 55 articles in national journals in 2019, 77 in 2020, and 80 in 2021, as well as articles in international journals: 54 in 2019, 100 in 2020, and 25 in 2021. Additionally, textbooks, monographs, teaching aids, and author certificates have been produced during this time. The faculty is also known for its extracurricular activities, with 13 sports clubs and over 3500 students participating in various sports. The university has several sports facilities, including wrestling, boxing, volleyball, and gymnastics halls, as well as several open football fields and basketball courts. In the last three years, the faculty has produced five monographs, 36 teaching aids, and 22 textbooks. The faculty has also gained international recognition with its research publications. Faculty members have won over 100 international competition medals, 231 national competition medals, and 15 Universiade medals. In 2021, two students participated in the 16th Paralympic Games in Tokyo. The faculty continues to strengthen international collaborations with foreign universities. Since 2000, faculty students have formed the core of the regional team in the "Universiada" sports competitions among university students.
