About the programme
60710200 – Biotechnology undergraduate program must complete 30 credits per semester and 60 credits per academic year. The duration of study is 4 years, and students are required to accumulate 240 credits before graduation.One ECTS credit equals 30 academic hours, with a total yearly workload of 1800 academic hours, of which 40% consists of classroom hours and 60% of independent study hours.
The number of credits to be earned during each semester includes both compulsory and elective courses, as specified in the course catalog.
60710200 – Biotechnology undergraduate program maintains strong cooperation with several scientific research institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Institute of Microbiology, the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, the Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances, the Center for Advanced Technologies, as well as various pharmaceutical enterprises such as “SHANAZ” LLC, “RADIKS” LLC, “ZUMA-PHARMA” LLC, “Nobel Pharm” LLC, and “DENTAFILL PLUS”.Collaborative research is being carried out in fields related to biological, biotechnological, and bioorganic processes. Graduate students are assigned dissertation topics based on the existing issues of partner enterprises. These topics mainly focus on developing new products from local raw materials, creating new plant varieties through genetic engineering, and improving technologies for producing biologically active substances and supplements.
