About the programme

BA in International Business at CAU Business School

CAU Business School offers undergraduates a unique opportunity to participate in a dual degree (3+1) program with CBS International Business School (Germany). After three years of study at CAU, students can transfer to CBS to complete their final year and receive two degrees - one from CAU and one from CBS.

This degree will show you how social sciences contribute to the management of business innovations, and by critically evaluating current research in this area, you will gain a profound understanding of their role in creative industries.

Throughout your studies, you will focus on practical learning that will allow you to develop entrepreneurial skills applicable across any sector of the creative industries - from luxury and fashion to technology and music.

The course develops the ability to analyze ethical and intellectual considerations and supports your professional business growth.
 

What you'll study

This section of our program is meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive educational experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application through an array of courses across different disciplines. Each course is complemented by tutorials and labs, ensuring students receive intensive mentorship and hands-on experience, vital for mastering the subject matter.

The 1st Year of study

Year 1, Semester 1: Foundations of Business and Language Skills
 

  • Principles of Business (Core): Introduction to the fundamental concepts and frameworks of business to build a solid foundation for advanced studies.
  • General English 1 & 2 / Academic English 1 (Core): Tailored English language courses to enhance students' proficiency for academic success. General English is for beginners, and academic English is for students with an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher.
  • ICT Systems and Tools 1 (Core): This course explores the information and communication technology tools crucial for modern business operations.
  • Philosophy / History of Uzbekistan (Elective): An opportunity to delve into the philosophical underpinnings of business ethics or explore the rich history of Uzbekistan.


Year 1, Semester 2: Management Principles and Economic Foundations
 

  • Principles of Management (Core): Examination of management theories and practices in contemporary business environments.
  • Academic English 1 & 2 (Core): Advanced English courses designed to further develop academic and professional communication skills.
  • ICT Systems and Tools 2 (Core): Continued exploration of ICT in business, focusing on advanced applications and tools.
  • Business Math (Core): Introduction to the mathematical techniques and applications in business contexts.
  • Sociology / Principles of Economics (Elective): Study the societal impacts on business operations or understand the economic principles driving business decisions.

The 2nd Year of study

Year 2: Accounting, Economics, and Decision-Making
 

  • Introduction to Financial Accounting / Statistics / Business Communication / Microeconomics / Managerial Decision Making (Core): A series designed to deepen knowledge in financial principles, statistical analysis, effective communication, economic theories, and decision-making processes.
  • Elective: Students choose one elective focusing on a specialized area of interest.


Year 2: International Business and Organizational Studies
 

  • International HR Management / Organizational Behavior / Integrative Case Study / International Business / Macroeconomics (Core): Courses aimed at understanding the complexities of international business operations, human resources, organizational dynamics, and macroeconomic factors.
  • Elective: Opportunity for further specialization through elective selection.

The 3rd Year of study

Year 3: Advanced International Business Studies
 

  • International Political Economy / International Trade / Operations Management / International Marketing / Principles of Finance (Core): Advanced study areas focusing on the global business environment, trade dynamics, operations, marketing strategies, and financial management.
  • Elective: Choice of an elective to explore additional interests within or related to international business.


Year 3: Strategy, Law, and Analytics
 

  • Business Law / Organizational Theory & Design / Business Analytics (Data Science) / Global Supply Chain Management / Project Management (Core): A comprehensive overview of legal aspects, organizational design, data analytics, supply chain management, and project execution in an international context.
  • Elective: Further customization of the curriculum through elective selection.

The 4TH Year of study

Year 4: Leadership, Innovation, and Strategy
 

  • Digital Business Models / International Business Consulting / Strategic Management / Cross-Cultural Management / O'zbek Tilida Ish Yuritish (Business Uzbek) / Business Research Methods (Core): Preparation for leadership roles through understanding digital business, strategic planning, cross-cultural management, local business practices in Uzbek, and research methodologies.
  • Elective: Tailored to students' specific interests and career aspirations.


Year 4: Capstone Experience
 

  • Business Simulation Game / Innovation and Entrepreneurship / Sustainability in International Business / International Business Negotiation / Capstone Project / Thesis (Core): A culminating experience synthesizing learning through practical simulations, innovative thinking, sustainability practices, negotiation skills, and a comprehensive research project or thesis.

Elective Tracks: Throughout the program, students can choose electives from a diverse range of contemporary issues and global industry futures, allowing for personalized academic pathways tailored to individual career goals and interests.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee at the university covers the cost of academic instruction, examinations, and graduation procedures.
Payment is made per semester and can be paid in full or in installments.
$10,000 per year for international students.
