About the programme
Through this academic program, you will acquire advanced knowledge and professional competencies in the field of Linguistics (English Language). The curriculum provides in-depth study of English linguistics, including phonetics, morphology, syntax, semantics, historical and contemporary dialects of English, comparative linguistics, language policy, text analysis, lexicography, and modern branches of linguistic research such as cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics. In addition, students will develop strong research skills and gain expertise in contemporary linguistic research methodologies.
The specialization in Linguistics (English Language) is considered highly important today due to the growing demand for English language specialists, the expansion of international cooperation, the increasing importance of studying global scientific and cultural heritage, the shortage of qualified professionals in the fields of translation and language technologies, and the rising significance of Western languages in contemporary linguistic research worldwide.
During the two-year Master's degree program in Linguistics (English Language), students will acquire a broad range of theoretical knowledge and practical competencies. The curriculum is designed to provide the most up-to-date and essential academic disciplines required for professional and research activities in the field. Within this educational program, students are required to complete a total of 120 ECTS credits over 4 semesters (2 years), including:
- Total classroom instruction: 720 hours
- Research internship: 180 hours
- Master’s thesis: 300 hours
This program prepares graduates for careers in higher education, scientific research, language policy and planning, translation and interpretation, lexicography, language technologies, and other professional fields related to English linguistics and intercultural communication.
