About the programme
The Uzbek Language and Literature bachelor’s programme is designed to train highly qualified specialists in native language studies, literature, linguistics, literary studies, pedagogy and modern educational technologies. The programme provides students with a deep understanding of the rich scientific, cultural and literary heritage of the Uzbek language and prepares them to teach it effectively while developing learners’ national identity, speech culture and literary-aesthetic thinking.
During their studies, students explore Modern Uzbek Literary Language, Uzbek Literature, Uzbek Folklore, Fundamentals of Literary Studies, Fundamentals of Linguistics, Uzbek Dialectology, Methodology of Teaching Native Language and Literature, Speech Culture, Pedagogy, Psychology, Media Literacy and Information Culture. The programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical classes, teaching practice, research activities, creative assignments and analytical tasks.
Graduates can work as Uzbek language and literature teachers in general secondary, specialized secondary and professional education institutions, as methodologists, editors, proofreaders, researchers, and language specialists in media, culture, publishing, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
