Philology and Language Teaching: Japanese

With our degree in Japanese, you will be able to broaden your communicative competence (linguistic, pragmatic, sociolinguistic, strategic) and pedagogical skills to pursue a multitude of careers in the above-mentioned job positions. The Bachelor of Arts in Japanese educates students to communicate clearly and effectively while developing their critical and creative thinking skills. Students are also exposed to Japanese literature and country-study materials, discourse analysis, textual and contextual methods of interpreting texts. English (as a second language) will be taught in this program so that students can also pursue their career path not only in Japan but also in English-speaking countries.
