Philology and Language Teaching: Turkish

Through this academic program, you will acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical competencies in Philology and Language Teaching (Turkish Language), one of the key disciplines within modern philology and linguistics. In today’s globalized world, professionals who possess an excellent command of the Turkish language and are capable of teaching it based on scientific and pedagogical principles are in high demand in the global labor market.

During the four-year bachelor's program, you will receive comprehensive training in Turkish grammar, theoretical and applied linguistics, translation studies, literary studies, speech and communication skills, and contemporary language teaching methodologies. You will also master innovative pedagogical technologies and develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to organize and deliver effective language instruction.

Throughout your studies, you will develop fluency in spoken and written Turkish, gain the ability to work with academic texts, analyze literary works, and perform professional translation. In addition, you will complete teaching internships in schools, academic lyceums, and higher education institutions, enabling you to gain valuable practical experience in authentic educational environments. During the 8 semesters (4 years) of the program, students are required to complete a total of 240 ECTS credits, including:

• Total classroom instruction: 2,520 hours
• Professional internship: 900 hours
• Bachelor’s thesis (graduation project): 420 hours
