About the programme
70111401 – Uzbek Language and Literature. This master's programme covers the set of professional fields related to the theoretical problems of Uzbek linguistics, the history of the language and comparative-typological research, text linguistics and stylistics, the scholarly analysis of classical and modern Uzbek literature, literary theory and comparative literature, textual criticism and source studies, corpus linguistics, and the conduct of independent research based on contemporary methodologies for teaching the mother tongue and literature. Graduates may work as lecturers and senior lecturers in higher and specialised secondary education institutions, as researchers at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sectoral research institutes, as editors-in-chief and editors in publishing houses, as copy editors and columnists in the mass media, as experts on the state language and records management in public administration bodies, and as leading specialists in libraries, museums and cultural institutions, as well as continue their academic career in doctoral studies (PhD).
