UMFT University One-Year International Student Service Package (2025/2026)
1. General Provisions
These regulations govern the admission process for international (foreign) citizens applying for study at UMFT University.
The rules align with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations and reflect best practices from universities around the world.
International applicants are defined as foreign citizens and stateless persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
2. Programs Offered
International students can apply for the following levels:

3. Admission Timeline

4. Online Application Procedure
Step 1: Application Submission
Applicants must submit their application through the official UMFT International Admission Portal: https://umft.uz/reception
Required documents in scanned PDF format:

Step 2: Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $30 (or equivalent in Uzbek soum) must be paid online.
5. Evaluation and Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by the International Admissions Committee.

Selected applicants receive:

7. Visa Support
Upon receiving the Final Admission Letter, UMFT sends a visa support letter (invitation) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Student receives a visa reference number to apply at the Uzbekistan Embassy/Consulate in their country.

8. Arrival and Final Enrollment
Upon arrival, students must:

9. Language and Preparatory Courses
Students without required English proficiency can be enrolled in Foundation or English Preparatory Programs at UMFT.
Students may also study Uzbek or Russian language for academic purposes.
10. Tuition and Scholarships
Tuition fees vary by program and are published on UMFT’s official site.
Partial merit-based scholarships or discounts may be available to high-achieving international students.
Payment is accepted via international bank transfer or online payment systems.
11. Residence Permit and Health Insurance
UMFT assists students in applying for a temporary residence permit valid for the study period.
Students are encouraged to have health insurance valid in Uzbekistan. UMFT can suggest local providers if needed.
12. Withdrawal, Refund, and Re-admission
Students may withdraw according to university policy.
Refunds (if applicable) follow UMFT’s refund policy based on withdrawal timing.
Re-admission is possible upon request and approval within 1 academic year.

International partnerships
Partner Universities
1) Far East University (FEU)
Country: South Korea
Date of Partnership Agreement: 16.07.2024
Purpose of Partnership: A joint degree program in the field of artificial intelligence has been introduced, the program will be conducted in English. During the program, UMFT students will have the opportunity to study and gain practical experience in Korea for 2 years. Later, it is planned to establish a joint faculty with FEU consisting of several educational areas.
2) Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences
Country: Latvia
Date of Cooperation Agreement: 21.06.2023
Purpose of Cooperation: Organization of academic exchange of students and professors, organization of joint academic and scientific activities between departments and universities in areas of mutual interest, scientific cooperation, including holding courses, conferences, seminars, symposiums or lectures, as well as exchange and sharing of educational and academic materials, publications, resources and other relevant information
3) Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST)
Country: South Korea
Date of Cooperation Agreement: 26.12.2024
Purpose of Cooperation: Organization of joint bachelor's programs in the fields of industrial, energy and biomedical engineering, organization of advanced training courses for UMFT professors and teachers at UNIST, participation in joint projects in the field of scientific research, implementation of an academic exchange program for students is being implemented.
4) Liepājas Universitāte
Country: Latvia
Date of cooperation agreement: 22.06.2023
Purpose of cooperation: Organization of student exchange programs and internships for staff and teachers, organization of joint academic and scientific research activities between departments and universities in areas of mutual interest, holding conferences and seminars, as well as provision of educational materials.
5) Technische Universität Ilmenau
Country: Germany
Date of cooperation agreement: 18.12.2024
Purpose of cooperation: It is planned to implement academic exchange of students and teachers and scientific research cooperation. It is currently agreed that UMFT students will participate in an exchange program at the Ilmenau Technical University for 2 semesters. According to the agreement, the tuition fees and participation in German language courses for UMFT students will be covered by TU Ilmenau, while living expenses will be covered by the student.

Date of partnership agreement: 03/18/2024
Purpose of partnership: UMFT University receives CISCO "Network Academy" status, improves the qualifications of our teachers as CISCO trainers in special courses, integrates certified courses of the CISCO Academy in computer systems, programming, network technologies and cybersecurity into the educational process, and provides international certification of UMFT students at the end of subjects and courses.
3) KEI Advanced
Country: Japan
Date of cooperation agreement: 05/30/2024
Purpose of cooperation: Cooperation in conducting examinations to assess the knowledge of schoolchildren in mathematics according to the Japanese assessment system, students who score enough points in these examinations will be admitted to UMFT University without entrance exams in the future, as well as in the future it is planned to establish partnerships with Japanese universities, and introduce a student exchange program.
4) Ruijiye Networks
Country: China
Date of cooperation agreement: 07/08/2024
Purpose of cooperation: The implementation of network technologies offered by Ruijie Networks in the educational process, the establishment of a Ruijie Networks laboratory at UMFT University and the introduction of a training system in accordance with it, the organization of internships for our students in this company, as well as cooperation in exchanging experience with leading Chinese universities in this area are envisaged.
