A Cybersecurity Awareness Event Was Organized for Students
Alongside the rapid development of information technologies, cybersecurity has become one of the most pressing issues today. In particular, the growing use of the internet among young people and students calls for stronger awareness-raising efforts to prevent cybercrime.
In this regard, an awareness-raising event on cybersecurity was organized for students by the Department for Combating Crimes in the Field of Information Technologies under the Regional Department of Internal Affairs. The event was attended by Inspector for Special Assignments Okhunjon Umarov and Senior Inspector Bakhtiyor Abdualimov.
During the event entitled “Cybersecurity — A Challenge of Our Time,” specialists provided detailed information about cybercrimes emerging alongside the development of information technologies, their main types, and preventive measures. Particular attention was paid to online fraud, the illegal acquisition of personal data, attacks carried out through fraudulent links, and phishing methods used to obtain information through deception.
The students were also provided with practical recommendations on following cybersecurity rules in everyday life, protecting personal information, avoiding unknown links, and exercising caution when using social media. The specialists emphasized that every user has an important responsibility in protecting themselves against cybercrime.
