A New Era in Youth Policy: Opportunity, Responsibility and Results

The dialogue between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and young people held at the Kuksaroy Residence once again demonstrated that youth policy in our country is entering an entirely new stage.

It is no coincidence that the Head of State placed particular emphasis on the remarkable achievements of young people. In recent years, our students have won 66 gold, 147 silver and 221 bronze medals at international science Olympiads. This is a practical result of reforms in the education system and the opportunities created for young people. More than 500 young Uzbeks are currently studying at some of the world's most prestigious universities, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia and Cornell. More than 3,500 young people from Uzbekistan are studying at universities ranked among the TOP 100 in the world. These figures are clear evidence of the rapid growth of our country's intellectual potential.

It is a source of great pride that Uzbekistan has been recognized as one of the fastest-developing countries in the Global Youth Development Index. Above all, this represents international recognition of the consistent and effective implementation of state youth policy in our country.

The establishment of the headquarters of the World Youth Movement for Peace in Tashkent, as well as Uzbekistan's hosting of prestigious international events in Samarkand, including the 12th Global Conference of Youth Parliament Members, the Take Off International Startup Summit, and the 46th World Chess Olympiad, will further strengthen the country's international standing.

Of particular importance is the initiative to designate every Thursday as “Youth Day”, when leaders at all levels meet young people face-to-face in mahallas, schools and technical colleges. This approach makes it possible to identify problems directly on the ground and address them promptly, while strengthening responsibility and accountability.
