A spiritual and educational meeting on the topic “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” was held
Today at Kokand State University, a spiritual and educational meeting on the topic “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” was held with the participation of Zokirjon Khakimov, Chief Specialist of the Regional Department of the Committee on Religious Affairs of Fergana Region, and students. The event aimed to raise youth awareness, strengthen religious tolerance, and promote the correct use of modern information sources. At the beginning of the meeting, Zokirjon Khakimov provided detailed information to participants about the negative consequences of ignorance in contemporary society. He emphasized that the main tools to counter ignorance are scientific knowledge, a deep understanding of historical and national values, as well as open and constructive dialogue. He highlighted that fostering religious tolerance and civic attitudes can help prevent the spread of extremist ideas among young people.
During the event, the impact of social media on youth consciousness was given special attention. Experts emphasized the need to increase digital literacy, verify the reliability of sources, and observe personal safety rules to protect against information attacks, false data, and radical content. Methods of spiritually strengthening young people through national and universal cultural values were also discussed.
At the meeting, students shared their opinions on the topic and asked pressing questions. The officials responded in detail to each query, providing practical advice, educational materials, and additional resources. A high level of student interest was observed in issues such as information security, criteria for selecting religious sources, and constructive participation in discussions on social networks.
At the end of the meeting, specific practical measures were determined for fostering an enlightened and critical-thinking younger generation. The university administration and representatives of the Committee on Religious Affairs announced their intention to continue holding spiritual and educational events and to further cooperation in increasing students’ knowledge in the social and informational spheres.
