At Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, the implementation of state policy in the field of sports is being ensured.
A delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shakhrillo Makhmudov, reviewed the current state of sports development at the university.
It should be noted that during the 2025/2026 academic year, students have won 57 medals (18 at international competitions: 4 gold, 6 silver, 8 bronze; 39 at the national level: 9 gold, 10 silver, 20 bronze). At the “Five Initiatives Olympiad,” the women’s streetball team won a gold medal, while the men’s volleyball team secured a bronze medal.
At the regional stage of the “Student League,” the university qualified for the final stage in 10 out of 12 sports (excluding tennis and chess). In April this year, 1,059 students participated in 7 sports disciplines during the university stage of the “New Uzbekistan Student Olympiad.”
At the Inclusive Youth Sports Festival held at the university, 172 students with disabilities participated, and 42 of them were awarded. Among 742 students studying in sports fields, 44 are members of the national team of Uzbekistan across 19 sports. A five-day study system has been introduced at the university, and Saturdays are designated as a day for social activity, sports, and wellness for both faculty and students.
