Greek Ambassador at the National University of Uzbekistan: Issues of Educational and Scientific Cooperation Discussed

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Tashkent, P. Tsevelik, visited the National University of Uzbekistan and held a meeting with the university leadership and historians.

The meeting, organized at the Faculty of History, was attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations K. Inakov, Head of the International Relations Department J. Madatov, Academician A. Sagdullayev, and Head of the Department of Archaeology F. Ochildiyev.

During the discussion, the parties addressed further development of cooperation in the fields of education and science, particularly conducting joint research in history and archaeology, exchanging academic experience, and expanding academic ties.

The Ambassador also proposed organizing a joint symposium or scientific conference involving historians and archaeologists from higher education institutions of Central Asia and Greece. The parties highly appreciated the scientific and practical significance of this initiative.

Opportunities for implementing international programs, scientific conferences, and cultural exchange projects for students and faculty members were also discussed.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Ambassador toured the museum operating under the Faculty of History. The unique archaeological findings and historical exhibits preserved there aroused great interest.

The visit was recognized as an important step toward strengthening educational, scientific, and cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Greece.
