International Day of Girls — A Celebration of Attention and Recognition
In accordance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution of December 19, 2011, October 11 has been declared the “International Day of Girls.” This date is celebrated annually around the world to protect the rights of girls, draw attention to their social issues, and promote equal opportunities. The day serves to highlight such pressing issues as forced marriages, and the expansion of girls’ access to education and healthcare.
In this regard, the Women’s Advisory Council of Kokand State University organized a cultural and educational event titled “Girls — Educators of the Nation.” Students from the Faculties of Foreign Languages, Arts, and Sports participated with their creative performances.
During the event, stage performances, artistic presentations, and displays highlighting the social activity, role, and significance of girls in society were showcased. At the conclusion, socially active female students were awarded honorary certificates and memorable gifts.
This event inspired the girls, instilling in them a sense of pride and confidence, and encouraged them to become active, spiritually mature, and ambitious individuals in life.
