International Seminar-Training on STEM Education Held at UrSU

Urgench State University, in partnership with American Councils for International Education, hosted a workshop on innovative STEM teaching methods using low-cost materials.

On February 21, 2026, Urgench State University hosted an international seminar-training titled “Hands-On STEM with Low-Cost Materials.” The event was organized in collaboration with the American Councils for International Education.

The seminar was opened by Z. Jumaniyozov, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, who highlighted STEM education as a top priority in modern academia. The training was moderated by Associate Professor F. Masharipova from the Department of English Language and Literature. Key speakers included distinguished alumnae of international exchange programs:

  • M. Kuronbayeva – Alumna of the U.S. Government’s “Access” program;

  • N. Hamrayeva, D. Qoʻchqorova, and O. Jumaniyazova – Alumnae of the “Fulbright TEA” program.

The workshop focused on innovative and interactive methods for teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) using affordable, low-cost materials. Through hands-on activities, participants not only reinforced their theoretical knowledge but also enhanced their skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking. This initiative serves as a platform for sharing international expertise and advancing pedagogical excellence at the university.
