SIUT Representatives Join International Experts in Artificial Intelligence and Financial Technologies

From June 2 to 6, 2026, the Third Summer School on Mathematical Finance and Financial Engineering (SSMFFE-03) was successfully organized through the joint efforts of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), the Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI), and Samarkand International University of Technology (SIUT).

The prestigious international event served as a platform for scholars, researchers, and industry experts to exchange knowledge and discuss emerging developments in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, quantitative finance, and financial engineering. This year’s Summer School was held under the theme: “Fostering AI, Cybersecurity, and Quantum Finance in Digital Africa’s Transformation while Building Africa’s Scientific Silk Road 2050.”

The opening ceremony featured remarks by Professor Jimbo Claver, Chair of the Organizing Committee and Dean of the French Institute of International Tourism and Hospitality at SIUT. In his keynote address, Professor Claver highlighted the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, Quantum Finance, and Financial Engineering in accelerating Africa’s digital transformation and supporting sustainable economic development across the continent.

The Summer School brought together leading international scholars and experts in quantitative finance and financial engineering, including Professor Kamdem Sadefo (University of Montpellier, France), Professor Martial Longla (University of Mississippi, USA), Professor Hossain Sazzad (Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan), Professor Tesfahun Berhane (Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia), and many other distinguished academics.

More than 60 participants attended the event both in person and online. Researchers and academics from different countries presented their latest findings and engaged in discussions on the future of financial technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital innovation.

Presentations delivered by SIUT representatives — Professors Z. Ashurova, V. Kotov, and M.Sakalov — attracted significant interest from the international audience. Their research contributions received positive feedback and generated productive academic discussions, followed by engaging question-and-answer sessions. In addition to the academic program, participants visited Nairobi National Park, the University of Nairobi, and the Technical University of Kenya, providing further opportunities for networking and exploring future avenues of academic collaboration. The organizers and guests were warmly welcomed and invited to participate in upcoming international engineering conferences.

The next edition of the Summer School on Mathematical Finance and Financial Engineering is scheduled to be hosted by the University of Botswana in 2027.SIUT’s active participation in such prestigious international initiatives reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening global academic partnerships, promoting scientific excellence, and creating new opportunities for faculty members, researchers, and students. Through engagement in high-level international platforms, SIUT continues to enhance its presence within the global academic community and contribute to the advancement of science, innovation, and international cooperation.

Admissions for the 2026–2027 academic year at the French Institute of International Tourism and Hospitality at SIUT are currently open.
