Subject Olympiad Held at TISU

At the initiative of the Department of History of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Social Sciences and Humanities, a History Subject Olympiad was organized among first-, second- and third-year students. The event became one of the important academic and educational initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education at Termez University of Economics and Service, assessing students’ knowledge, and enabling them to demonstrate their intellectual potential.

The Olympiad was held to strengthen students’ theoretical and practical knowledge of history, develop their skills in logical thinking, analysis and drawing conclusions, as well as identify and encourage talented and knowledgeable students.

The History Olympiad consisted of three stages:

  • Test examination — aimed at promptly and objectively assessing students’ knowledge;
  • Oral questions and answers and situational tasks — designed to assess participants’ ability to think independently and analyze historical processes;
  • Written assignment — provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the subject, their ability to work with historical sources, and their written communication skills.

The Olympiad was organized in accordance with the principles of transparency and fairness, with strict adherence to the assessment criteria. At each stage, students’ performance was evaluated by an impartial jury, and the results were publicly announced.
