The Great Commander and Builder: The Legacy of Amir Temur is Honored.
At the Faculty of Humanities and Languages of Kokand State University, a scientific seminar was held on the topic “The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Timurids in Human Civilization,” dedicated to the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great commander and statesman Amir Temur. This event was organized with the aim of deeply studying our historical heritage, strengthening the sense of national pride and patriotism in the minds of the younger generation, and widely promoting the contribution of the Timurid era to world civilization.
The seminar was opened by the university’s First Vice-Rector Ahmujon Husanov, who in his speech particularly emphasized that the personality of Amir Temur is significant not only for his military genius, but also for his enormous contribution to state governance, the development of science, and culture. He noted that the Timurid era was a period of flourishing in our nation’s history and stressed the importance of studying this heritage for today’s youth.
The keynote lecture on “The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Timurids in Human Civilization” was delivered in detail by Doctor of Historical Sciences Bahriddin Usmonov. The lecture scientifically analyzed the centralized state system formed during Amir Temur’s reign, as well as the stages of development in science, architecture, trade, and culture.
In addition, extensive discussion was devoted to the grand architectural monuments built during the Timurid dynasty, the flourishing scientific schools, and their impact on world civilization. The speaker assessed the Timurid period as one of the most important stages of the Eastern Renaissance, emphasizing that science and culture advanced to an unprecedented level during this era.
During the seminar, lively academic debates took place among professors, researchers, and students. Participants shared their views and reflections on the topic, and answers were provided to a number of questions.
At the end of the event, it was especially emphasized that such scientific and educational seminars play an important role in developing the historical thinking of young people and fostering respect for the heritage of their ancestors.
