The Uzbekistan–Japan Center Has Been Established at Bukhara State Technical University
The Uzbekistan–Japan Center has been established at Bukhara State Technical University, and its solemn opening ceremony was held.
The establishment of the Center marks an important step towards further developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in education, science, innovation, and cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as expanding opportunities for international exchange and creating new prospects for young people.
The opening ceremony was attended by Botir Zaripov, Governor of Bukhara Region; Sadoqat Siddiqova, Rector of Bukhara State Technical University; Kenji Hirata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan; Kuria Tsutaki, Adviser at the Embassy of Japan; Mamoru Sakai, Director of the JICA Uzbekistan Office; Naomi Abe, JICA Project Formulation Consultant; Hiroo Iwazaki and Alisher Azizovich Paygamov, Co-Directors of the Uzbekistan–Japan Center; Heizo Nakamura, Center Coordinator and JICA Representative; Ulugbek Ahmadovich Azamov, National Coordinator of the Uzbekistan–Japan Center; Wakana Yamaguchi, Professor at the University of Tsukuba; Shoko Takada, Professor of Japanese Language; Shaxruh Kamolovich Mahmudov, Director of the Bukhara City Office of the Uzbekistan–Japan Center; as well as other distinguished guests.
Through the Center's activities, favorable conditions will be created for young people to learn Japanese, become more closely acquainted with Japanese culture, exchange international experience, participate in scientific and innovative projects, and access new opportunities for education and professional development.
The Uzbekistan–Japan Center at Bukhara State Technical University will serve as a new platform for international cooperation, education, and cultural exchange, contributing to the further strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
Meeting with the Governor of Bukhara Region
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Kenji Hirata met with the Governor of Bukhara Region Botir Zaripov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to employment, entrepreneurship development, the creation of new jobs, implementation of mutually beneficial projects, and expansion of bilateral cooperation.
The Japanese delegation was also introduced to the activities and facilities of the new building of the Bukhara Regional Administration.
The Ancient History of Bukhara Made a Strong Impression on Japanese Guests
A tour of the historical and cultural sites of ancient Bukhara was organized for the delegation led by Kenji Hirata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the guests had the opportunity to experience the unique historical atmosphere of Bukhara, shaped over centuries, and explore the city’s renowned architectural monuments. The centuries-old history of Bukhara as an important center of science, education, handicrafts, and trade along the Great Silk Road generated particular interest among the guests.
During the tour, the guests also became acquainted with examples of national handicrafts, traditional decorative arts, and the distinctive features of ancient architecture. The friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Japan, cultural dialogue, and new dimensions of mutual cooperation are being further strengthened through such meetings and visits.
