On June 10–11, 2026, the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI hosted an international scientific and educational seminar, “Fundamentals of Nuclear Energy,” bringing together teachers, researchers, students, and nuclear industry specialists from Central Asian countries.
During the two-day program, participants discussed key issues in the development of nuclear energy and nuclear technology, current trends in the global nuclear industry, prospects for the introduction of small modular reactors, safety requirements for the construction and operation of nuclear power plants, and the application of nuclear technology in medicine, agriculture, and industry.
▫️Leading experts from MEPhI, the Atomic Energy Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and representatives of relevant organizations delivered lectures. Particular attention was paid to the training of highly qualified personnel for the nuclear industry and the development of international scientific and educational cooperation.
▫️Such events help strengthen professional ties between educational and scientific institutions in the region, exchange best practices, and develop a new generation of specialists for the development of nuclear energy in Central Asia.
