“Youth Day”: the Deputy Prime Minister met with female students
As part of the traditionally held “Thursday — Youth Day,” an event dedicated to strengthening the role of women in the socio-political life of the country, realizing their intellectual potential, and studying their systemic issues was held at Kokand State University. Zulayho Mahkamova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women, met with the university’s female students and conducted an open dialogue on the opportunities being created for them and the priority directions of state policy.
At the beginning of the event, it was emphasized that the attention currently given to women’s education in our country is not merely social support, but an investment in the nation’s strategic future. In particular, the practical results of historic measures were analyzed, such as preferential tuition payments for female students in higher education institutions and the full coverage of educational expenses for women studying at the master’s level by the state. During the dialogue, it was highlighted how effectively these opportunities are being implemented at Kokand State University and how students’ interest in science is growing.
The main part of the meeting focused on the issues of female students finding their place in the modern labor market and becoming qualified professionals. During the discussions, it was noted that all necessary conditions are being created for girls to demonstrate their potential not only in pedagogy but also in IT, management, economics, and innovative technologies. The essence of new projects aimed at supporting young women’s entrepreneurial initiatives, providing grants, and offering platforms for scientific research was also explained.
During the open dialogue, pressing issues raised by the students were thoroughly discussed — conditions in dormitories, employment guarantees after graduation, and overcoming social stereotypes in society. Within the framework of state programs, specific recommendations were given on expanding young women’s participation in political processes and preparing them for future leadership positions.
At the end of the event, all raised issues and proposals were taken under control by responsible officials. It was noted that such open and sincere meetings not only strengthen young people’s confidence in the future but also enhance their sense of belonging to societal development. The dialogue held became a logical continuation of efforts to protect women’s rights and interests and to encourage them to acquire modern knowledge.
