Architecture of buildings and structures

he Department of “Building and Structures Construction” was established in 1929. From 1929 to 1940 it was known as “Construction Art,” from 1947 to 1992 as “Architecture of Industrial and Civil Buildings.” Between 1992 and 2020 it was called “Buildings and Structures,” and since 2020 “Design of Buildings and Structures.” In 2023–2024 it operated under “Construction Engineering Technology,” and as of 2024 it reverted to “Building and Structures Construction.”

Since its founding, the following have served as heads: PhD in Engineering, Assoc. Prof. L.E. Folkman; PhD in Engineering, Assoc. Prof. G.G. Martirosyans; PhD in Architecture, Assoc. Prof. K.I. Abdurasulov; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. K.K. Kazakbaev; PhD in Engineering, Assoc. Prof. F.N. Narzullaev; PhD in Architecture, Assoc. Prof. I.S. Suxanov; from 1979 Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. H.N. Nuretdinov; Assoc. Prof. R.A. Kuchkarov; Assoc. Prof. R.H. Pirmatov; Assoc. Prof. S.S. Sayfiddinov; from 2016 Assoc. Prof. U.T. Yusupov; from 2017 to 2020 Assoc. Prof. S.M. Maxmudov; and since 2020 PhD, Assoc. Prof. Sh.X. Baymatov.

The department collaborates with faculty from top international universities: Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, and the Belarusian National Technical University.

Currently, under the department’s main research theme “Design and construction of modern buildings and structures, enhancing their energy efficiency and seismic resilience,” one DSc doctoral candidate and twenty PhD candidates are conducting research.

The department has entered into cooperation agreements with “Zamin va poydevorlar” LLC and maintains corporate partnerships with design institutes: “Yangi Zamon Bino” LLC, “ToshuyjoyLITI” JSC, “Toshkentboshplanliti” State Unitary Enterprise, “O’zog’irsanoatloyiha” JSC, “12-y Trest,” and “Tashgipragor” JSC.
