About the programme
After its establishment, the department was headed by Associate Professor B.A. Baymukhamedov until 2004, then by Associate Professor M.R. Borodina from 2004 to 2015, followed by PhD in Architecture, Associate Professor A.V. Vetlugina and Associate Professor Z.E. Matniyazov in 2015–2016. Currently, Associate Professor S.S. Elmurodov is serving as the head of the department.
At present, the department employs 1 academician, 3 professors, 10 associate professors, 3 senior lecturers, and 3 assistants. The faculty members are exemplary in developing and applying advanced pedagogical technologies, implementing information technologies, conducting spiritual and educational activities, and engaging in scientific research.
The department is considered one of the leading departments in the country for providing technical universities and vocational colleges with modern textbooks and teaching aids in subjects such as "Fundamentals of Design", "Basics of Projecting", "Architectural Graphics", "Landscape Design", "Interior Design", "Artistic Design", "Decorative Gardening", "Ergonomics", "Computer-Aided Design", "Modeling and Prototyping", and "Presentation Design". Textbooks authored by the department’s staff are currently used as primary educational resources for students majoring in “Design” and “Architecture”.
The department has trained 3 Presidential scholarship holders and more than 10 winners of science olympiads, as well as numerous international and national competitions.
Classes are conducted using new pedagogical technologies. In addition to creating new textbooks and teaching materials, the faculty is also involved in theoretical and practical research in the field of architectural environment design. Research is carried out in cooperation with several higher education institutions and industrial enterprises. The scientific and practical results are presented at conferences and published in various prestigious foreign and local scientific journals.
