Economics

After the establishment of the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction in 1991, the department was renamed “Economics and Management.” From 1983 to 2004, the department was headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor M.Q. Ziyayev. By order No. 144 of the Rector of TIAC dated July 12, 2002, two new departments were created based on the original one: “Economics in Construction” and “Management.” In October 2010, following a decision of the Academic Council, the department began operating under the name “Economics and Real Estate Management.” According to Presidential Decree No. PQ-416 dated November 8, 2022, since 2024, the department has been operating under the name “Economics and Real Estate.” The department head is Nilufar Shukhratovna Akhmedova.

Currently, the department’s scientific potential is 62.5%. The faculty includes 16 members: 3 professors, 5 associate professors, 3 acting associate professors, 3 senior lecturers, and 2 assistants. Faculty members have published numerous textbooks, teaching manuals, methodological guidelines, monographs, and scientific articles in the fields of construction economics and value engineering and real estate appraisal.

The department trains undergraduate students in 60310100 – “Economics” and 60730700 – “Value Engineering and Real Estate Management,” and master's students in 70310100 – “Economics” and 70730700 – “Value Engineering and Real Estate Management.”

Faculty members teach over 45 academic disciplines. In the past three years, 15 textbooks, over 30 manuals, and 7 monographs have been published. Methodological complexes for 45 subjects have been developed and integrated into the educational process, including digital versions for students.

Researchers at the department are engaged in studies focused on the development of social infrastructure in Uzbekistan, construction cost formation, improvement of real estate valuation methods, and enhancing organizational and economic relations in the construction sector.

To develop innovative corporate cooperation with the industry, the department conducts over 20 contractual research projects annually with construction companies.

Talented students from the department regularly achieve success in national Olympiads in Economic Theory, Accounting, Macroeconomics, and Microeconomics.
