About the programme
Through this academic program, you will acquire advanced knowledge and professional competencies in the field of Linguistics (Arabic Language). The curriculum provides in-depth study of Arabic linguistics, including phonetics, morphology, syntax, semantics, historical and contemporary Arabic dialects, comparative linguistics, language policy, text analysis, lexicography, and modern branches of linguistic research such as cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics. In addition, students will develop a strong foundation in scientific research methodologies and contemporary approaches to linguistic inquiry.
The specialization in Linguistics (Arabic Language) has become increasingly important due to the growing demand for Arabic language specialists, the expansion of international relations with countries of the Middle East, the need for scholarly research on Arabic linguistic and cultural heritage, and the shortage of qualified professionals in translation, language technologies, and linguistic research. Furthermore, the rising significance of Eastern languages in global linguistic studies has enhanced the relevance of this field in both academic and professional contexts.
During the two-year program, you will gain a broad range of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Arabic linguistics. The curriculum incorporates contemporary and essential disciplines designed to prepare students for successful careers in academia, research, translation, language technology, and international cooperation. By studying with us, you will develop the expertise necessary to achieve your academic and professional aspirations.
The program is structured over 4 semesters (2 years), during which students are required to complete a total of 120 credits, including:
- Total classroom instruction: 720 hours
- Research internship/practicum: 180 hours
- Master’s dissertation: 300 hours
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will possess advanced linguistic, analytical, and research competencies, enabling them to pursue careers in higher education, research institutions, translation and interpretation, language technology development, cultural organizations, and other fields related to Arabic language studies and linguistics.
