About the university
Based on paragraph 98 of Protocol No. 4, organized in accordance with the instructions given by President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev during his visit to Bukhara region on January 21–22, 2021, and at the next extraordinary session of the Regional Council of People's Deputies.
Currently, our university has 3 campuses, with a total capacity of 6,000 student seats in academic buildings and 420 beds in the dormitory. We offer 16 bachelor's programs, 8 master's programs, and doctoral studies in 6 formats (in Psychology, Philology, and Pedagogical Sciences).
On March 28, 2025, based on the relevant license of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the university's name was changed to "Bukhara International University." This change reflects the high results achieved over 4 years of operation: an increase in student numbers, growth in academic buildings, education quality meeting international standards, scientific potential reaching 69%, the number of educational fields growing to 24, the establishment of a scientific council in psychology, and publications in international scientific journals.
The university has 6 departments, where 98 teachers work, including 18 professors, 28 associate professors, 19 doctors of science, and 23 candidates of science. Since 2021, student records have been kept on the HEMIS platform under an agreement with the "Center for the Development of Digital Education Technologies."
The university is actively developing international cooperation: agreements have been signed with foreign higher education institutions, student and faculty exchange programs are in place, and partnerships have been established with Top 1000-ranked universities. Modern infrastructure has been created for students — a conference hall, classrooms, an information resource center, and a library.
