About the university

The Tashkent Branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine was established in accordance with Resolution No. 840 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated October 3, 2019. The educational process at the branch commenced in the 2020–2021 academic year. Pursuant to Presidential Resolution No. PQ-187 of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated March 31, 2022, the branch was granted the status of the Tashkent Branch of Samarkand State university veterinary medicine, livestock and biotexnologies. At present, the branch offers undergraduate programs in 9 full-time, 2 distance-learning, and 5 evening-study fields. These include Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Sanitary Expertise, Veterinary Pharmacy, Zoo Engineering, Biotechnology, Agronomy, Ecology and Environmental Protection, Economics, and Accounting. In addition, the University offers 13 master's degree programs. The total number of students enrolled is 2,573. Furthermore, 28 basic doctoral students and 50 researchers are actively engaged in scientific research. Although the University has been operating for only a relatively short period, it has already achieved significant accomplishments in education, scientific research, international cooperation, and sports.

For international students

Tashkent branch of Samarkand State university veterinary medicine, livestock and biotexnologies provides all the necessary facilities and support to ensure high-quality education, comfortable living conditions, and successful adaptation for international students.

The Branch is equipped with modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, an Information Resource Center (library), computer laboratories, and high-speed Internet access. The educational process is conducted by highly qualified academic staff using modern teaching methods and innovative educational technologies.

To enrich students' extracurricular life, the Branch regularly organizes cultural and educational events, sports competitions, scientific seminars, conferences, and student clubs. In addition, excursions and cultural activities are arranged to introduce international students to the history, traditions, culture, and national values of Uzbekistan.

The Branch administration and relevant departments provide comprehensive assistance to international students on academic matters, accommodation, document processing, visa-related procedures, and adaptation to university life. Creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming educational environment for international students is one of the Branch's top priorities.

International partnerships

Tashkent branch of Samarkand State university veterinary medicine, livestock and biotexnologies places great emphasis on the development of international cooperation by continuously expanding mutually beneficial partnerships with foreign higher education institutions, research centers, and international organizations.

The Branch has established partnership agreements with leading higher education institutions in Latvia, Türkiye, Russia, China, India, Poland, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and other countries. Within the framework of these partnerships, academic mobility programs, faculty and student exchange initiatives, joint research projects, international conferences, seminars, and professional development courses are regularly implemented.

Language courses

English and Russian language courses are available for students at Tashkent branch of Samarkand State university veterinary medicine, livestock and biotexnologies.

The courses are taught by experienced instructors using modern teaching methods. They are designed for learners at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The program focuses on developing language proficiency, preparing students for national and international language certification exams, and improving everyday communication skills.

Opportunities for students

In order to train scientific and pedagogical personnel, a base doctarantura was opened under the department in 2021. In addition to domestic specialists, it is envisaged that researchers from a foreign state will be accepted in the base doctrine.

By 2023, the number of base doctarants had grown to 43 individuals. Among them, research is being carried out on scientific topics not only in the local and national direction, but also on problems at the global level. Currently, the department operates as part of the deputy director for Scientific Affairs and innovation of the University with the aim of training its personnel in the field areas.

Faculties

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is a structural subdivision of the Branch, established in accordance with the Model Regulations on the Faculty of a Higher Education Institution, developed pursuant to Order No. 487 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 3, 2011, and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 840 dated October 3, 2019, "On the Establishment of the Tashkent Branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine."

The Faculty offers undergraduate education in the following fields: 60840100 – Veterinary Medicine, 60840300 – Veterinary Sanitary Expertise, and 60840200 – Veterinary Pharmacy. Master's degree students study in the following specialties: 70840302 – Veterinary Microbiology, Virology, Epizootology, Mycology and Immunology; 70840301 – Veterinary Sanitation, Veterinary Sanitary Expertise and Hygiene of Livestock Product Processing; 70840102 – Veterinary Surgery; 70840105 – Animal Pathology, Oncology and Morphology; 70840303 – Parasitic and Infectious Diseases of Animals; 70840101 – Animal Diagnosis and Treatment; and 70840103 – Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.

This Regulation defines the procedure for organizing the activities of the Faculty of Technologies of the Tashkent Branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education” No. 464-I of August 29, 1997 (Bulletin of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan), as well as Resolution No. 840 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 3, 2019, “On the Establishment of the Tashkent Branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine.”

The Faculty provides bachelor's degree education in the following fields of study: 60810800 – Zoo Engineering, 60710200 – Biotechnology, 60520200 – Ecology and Environmental Protection, 60812100 – Technology of Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants, and 60810400 – Agronomy. The Faculty also provides master's degree education in the following specialties: 70810801 – Poultry Science, 70810802 – Selection and Breeding of Farm Animals, 70830101 – Fisheries, 70710201 – Biotechnology, and 70520202 – Ecology.

The Faculty was established in 2023 on the basis of the Department of Economics, Accounting and Audit of the Tashkent Branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine in accordance with Resolution No. 840 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 3, 2019, “On the Establishment of the Tashkent Branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine.”

The Faculty provides bachelor's degree education in the following fields of study: 60310100 – Economics and 60410200 – Accounting. It also offers a master's degree program in the specialty 70410201 – Accounting.
