Modern linguistics: a scientific dialogue with the participation of Nizomiddin Mahmudov
At the Faculty of Humanities and Languages of Kokand State University, a scientific meeting was organized with Nizomiddin Mahmudov, Director of the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor. The event was attended by faculty members, students, master’s and doctoral candidates, as well as Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor M. Khakimov and M. Yoldoshev. The meeting was held in a scientific and educational spirit and became an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among participants.
During the event, comprehensive discussions were held on the актуальные направления of modern Uzbek linguistics, language development, and the current state of scientific research. In his speech, Professor Nizomiddin Mahmudov emphasized the role of language in societal development, the importance of preserving and developing the national language, and the significance of new approaches in conducting scientific research. He also provided insightful information on modern linguistic perspectives, global linguistic trends, and their impact on Uzbek linguistics.
One of the most important aspects of the meeting was its organization in an open dialogue format. Students and young researchers asked questions of interest and received detailed answers from the expert. Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor M. Khakimov and M. Yoldoshev also offered important recommendations on conducting research, selecting dissertation topics, writing scientific articles, and publishing them in reputable journals. This further increased participants’ interest in scientific activity.
The meeting carried not only scientific but also spiritual significance. It widely promoted values such as respect for language and literature, devotion to national traditions, and the pursuit of knowledge. At the end of the event, as a sign of great respect, Nizomiddin Mahmudov was ceremonially presented with a traditional chapan. This added a special atmosphere to the meeting and left warm impressions on the participants.
This scientific meeting, held at the Faculty of Humanities and Languages, became one of the important events contributing to the expansion of students’ scientific worldview, deepening their interest in linguistics, and supporting their development into highly qualified specialists in the future.
