About the programme

 History (by Countries and Directions)

  The History (by Countries and Directions) programme is a modern humanities degree that prepares highly qualified
  historians for an in-depth study of human history from ancient times to the present day, the analysis of the cultural
  and civilisational heritage of Uzbekistan and world peoples, and the scientific interpretation of historical
  processes. The dual mode of study enables students to combine theoretical preparation with practice in museums,
  archives, research institutes and educational institutions.

  Programme Objectives

  To prepare highly qualified historian-researchers and teachers with profound knowledge of the history of Uzbekistan,
  Central Asia, and Eastern and Western countries, capable of working with primary historical sources and applying
  modern scientific methods and historiographical theories in practice.

  • History of Uzbekistan and History of Central Asia
  • World History (ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary)
  • Archaeology and Ethnography
  • Source Studies and Historiography
  • Auxiliary Historical Disciplines (palaeography, numismatics, heraldry)
  • History and Culture of the Chosen Country (according to specialisation)
  • Methodology of Historical Research
  • Methodology of Teaching History
  • Digital Humanities and Archival Studies

  • Critical analysis of primary and secondary historical sources
