60112700 — Special Pedagogy (Speech Therapy): Types of Professional Activities of Graduates

The professional activities of graduates of the 60112700 — Special Pedagogy (Speech Therapy) program cover the following areas:

the educational process; pedagogical technologies and teaching methods; theoretical issues of education; teaching methodology;

technologies for managing the educational process based on design, the process of designing and organizing lectures, practical and laboratory classes, the process of forming a personal and professional information environment, as well as the educational and upbringing process in extracurricular educational institutions;

the process of identifying problems in the field of education and organizing solutions to them; education management and organization of the pedagogical process;

research processes in the relevant specialty, as well as spiritual and educational outreach activities. Graduates may carry out pedagogical activity as teachers in secondary specialized and vocational education institutions;

engage in scientific and pedagogical research at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, sectoral research institutes, and as independent researchers;

work in general secondary schools and specialized state educational institutions for children with disabilities — schools and boarding schools — as special pedagogues, teacher-defectologists, and speech therapist teachers in accordance with the established procedure;

carry out pedagogical activity as teachers and educators in general secondary schools and specialized state educational institutions for children with disabilities — schools and boarding schools — in accordance with professional standards;

work as special pedagogues in state preschool educational organizations, specialized state preschool educational organizations for children with physical or mental developmental disabilities, and non-state preschool educational organizations, as well as work in medical organizations under the healthcare system as teacher-defectologists, speech therapist teachers, defectologists, speech therapists, and in equivalent positions;

work as classroom supervisors, laboratory assistants, and in equivalent positions within the education system;

work as methodologists, specialists, and in other positions in ministries, their sectoral departments, and institutions that provide education in the relevant fields;

carry out pedagogical activity as mentors who regulate, monitor, and provide diagnostic and consultative support for the work of speech therapist teachers and speech therapists who have the 4th qualification level of the National Qualifications Framework, that is, those who have completed secondary vocational education;

work as pedagogues-defectologists and educators in preschool educational organizations with inclusive groups, as defectologists and educators in combined-type preschool educational organizations, as speech therapist teachers in primary classes of general education schools, as speech therapists, and as heads of speech therapy centers;

work as staff members or methodologists in psychological and pedagogical diagnostic centers, as well as teacher-defectologists in specialized state educational institutions for children with disabilities — schools and boarding schools.

Graduates of the Special Pedagogy (Speech Therapy) program may continue their studies in master’s degree specialties within the periods established by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
