About the university
Tashkent State University of Economics is considered to be the main higher educational institution in the Republic in terms of economic field and was established as the Central Asian Institute of Finance and Economics on August 13, 1931, by the decision of the Council of Public Commissars of the former Union. From August 31 of this year, it was called the Tashkent Institute of Finance and Economics. August 31, 1931 is considered the founding day of the Tashkent State University of Economics. In 1962, June 11 by decree No. 285 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Institute of Finance and Economics was transformed into the Tashkent Institute of National Economy. Following the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. VII-217 of July 6, 1991, and the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 164 of July 19, 1991, taking into account the achievements of the university in bringing candidates of the economic sphere and scientific and pedagogical potential, the institute of Tashkent National Economy was granted the status of Tashkent State University of Economics. The university is part of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education.
In its activities, Tashkent State University of Economics follows the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laws, and decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers, decisions of the Supreme Assembly, and the “Regulations in Higher Education" of Uzbekistan, as well as follows other regulatory documents of the Republic and its Charter.
Tashkent State University of Economics is a legal entity. It has an independent balance sheet, bank accounts, and other, including currency, account numbers, a seal with the image of the State emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its name, stamps and other requisites. Five bachelor’s degree programs of Tashkent State University of Economics — Finance, Banking and Audit, Accounting and Audit, Economics, and Insurance — have successfully received international accreditation in accordance with the standards of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR).

For international students
Foreign students who successfully pass the interview and submit the required documents will have their citizenship documents submitted to the Admissions Committee in accordance with the established procedure, after which their enrollment will be finalized. Tashkent State Economic University (TSUE) has academic cooperation relations covering advanced areas aimed at developing innovative economics and finance in the fields of economics, finance, banking, tourism, logistics, business management and other new educational areas. TSUE’s international partners are foreign universities and educational organizations in Asia, America, Europe, Australia and other regions.
TSUE successfully operates joint educational programs with the London Higher School of Economics, the Austrian University of Applied Sciences KREMS, the Ural State University of the Russian Federation, and the Indonesian University of Pendidikan. In the future, it is planned to create joint faculties with foreign partners in promising areas.

Language courses
At the Tashkent State University of Economics, comprehensive conditions have been created for high-quality foreign-language learning, which is an essential part of training highly qualified specialists in economics, international relations, and global business. The university is consistently developing a multilingual educational environment, enabling students to freely master such in-demand languages as English, Polish, Chinese, Russian, and Turkish.
Each field of study has its own training system, which includes modern methodological approaches, individualized learning paths, communicative practice, and interactive lessons. The educational process uses international textbooks, multimedia platforms, and online resources, while practical classes are held in specialized language rooms equipped with projectors, audio, and video technology, creating a full language-immersion atmosphere.
Special attention is paid to developing speaking skills. Students regularly participate in Speaking Clubs, discussion meetings, workshops, trainings, and open lessons with native speakers. Each language program includes additional courses, preparation for international exams (IELTS, HSK, etc.), as well as consultations for students preparing for academic mobility and internships abroad.
TSUE employs qualified teachers and experienced methodologists who have completed training and certification abroad. The university actively expands cooperation with foreign partners, cultural centers, and educational organizations from Poland, China, Turkey, and other countries, which allows attracting external experts, updating programs, and integrating modern teaching approaches.

FACULTY OF ECONOMICS
About the Faculty
Since its inception in 1952 as the Faculty of Economic Planning, the Faculty of Economics has played a vital role in the progress of Uzbekistan's national economy. The faculty has evolved through various stages, starting with training specialists in Labor Economics and National Economy Planning (1960-1963), and expanding to include Economics of Trade (since 1968) and Economics, Pricing, and Valuation (since 1969). Over the decades, it has adapted its programs to meet the changing needs of the economy, culminating in a broad array of specializations today.
The faculty operates under the guidance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education," presidential decrees, and directives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation. It has embraced international standards, as evidenced by receiving the ISO 9001:2015 certification for International Quality Management of Education in the 2021/2022 academic year. Our curricula are continually enhanced through international collaboration, preparing students for real-world challenges by integrating internships with key government and financial institutions.

The faculty boasts a dedicated team of 19 professors, 41 senior teachers, and 23 assistants, with a scientific potential of 72.2 percent. It offers 46 subjects for master’s degree and 37 subjects for bachelor’s degree students, reflecting a comprehensive approach to economic education.
FACULTY OF FINANCE
About the faculty
The training of highly qualified specialists who meet the requirements of the new era for the financial and banking system is incomparable in improving the economy of Uzbekistan. Tashkent Institute of Finance was organized on the basis of the Finance and Credit and Accounting and Economic faculties of the Tashkent Institute of National Economy by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan UP-207 dated May 13, 1991 in order to improve the processes of training qualified personnel for financial, accounting and credit institutions, as well as for financial economic services of enterprises and organizations of different forms of ownership and embodied the training of personnel in the areas of bachelor's and master's degrees that are in demand by market relations.
Finance Faculty is one of the large faculties that trains and graduates personnel for the public finance management system.
Currently, the Finance Faculty of the Tashkent State Economic University operates in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education”, the Presidential Decree “On additional measures to ensure the academic and organizational and managerial independence of state higher educational institutions”, orders and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education, science and innovation, orders of the rector of the university.
The curricula and programs of undergraduate education areas have been improved together with international experts based on the best practices of leading foreign higher educational organizations. The educational process at the faculty is completely organized on the basis of a credit-module system.
Pre-graduation qualifying practice for undergraduate students who are part of the faculty is organized and takes place in the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its territorial divisions, the State Tax Committee, the State Statistics Agency, khokimiyats of regions, cities and districts, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, commercial banks, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, other enterprises and organizations. During the internship, students implement the acquired theoretical knowledge into practice, get acquainted with innovations at practice sites, study existing problems, complete final qualification papers and other scientific developments based on the knowledge and skills acquired in practice.

FACULTY OF ACCOUNTING AND AUDIT
About the faculty
According to the decree PF-20 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 13, 1991, the Tashkent Financial Institute and the "Accounting and Economics" faculty within it were established. From September 2011 to November 2018, the faculty was named "Accounting and Auditing". According to the new organizational structure of the Tashkent Financial Institute agreed with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 25, 2018 and the order of the Rector of the Institute No. 754 dated November 3, 2018, the Faculty was changed to "Accounting and Audit".
The Faculty of Accounting and Audit is the largest faculty that has been training specialists in cooperation with large corporate structures, real sector enterprises, foreign joint ventures and auditing organizations since the institution was established.
Today, the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing of the Tashkent State University of Economics complies with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education", the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Ensuring the Academic and Organizational-Administrative Independence of State Higher Education Institutions" "Decision on additional measures" operates on the basis of relevant orders and instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University.
Curricula and science programs of undergraduate education are improved based on the experiences of leading higher education institutions of foreign countries in cooperation with international experts. The educational process at the faculty is organized on the basis of a full credit-module system.
Students of undergraduate courses under the management of the faculty undergo pre-graduation practice in large corporate structures, real sector enterprises, foreign joint ventures, audit organizations and economic entities. During the internship, they put their theoretical knowledge into practice, get acquainted with the innovations in the practice objects, study the existing problems, and perform graduation-qualification work and other scientific work based on the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship.
The mission of the faculty is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of accounting and auditing, able to compete in the international arena, and to educate well-rounded individuals.

The faculty has a total of 1741 undergraduate students, including 827 full-time students, 283 distance students, and 631 students of second higher education (external education).
FACULTY OF BANKING
About the faculty
After the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, taking into account the growing demand for specialists in the field of finance and credit, Tashkent Institute of Finance was founded by the Decree of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated on 13th May 1991 on the basis of faculties "Finance-Credit" and "Accounting-Economy” of Tashkent State University of Economics. From the same year, Faculty of “Credit-Economy” began its activity as a leading faculty of the institute.
“Credit-Economy” faculty of “is the base faculty for preparing bachelor specialists for bank institutions in the direction of "Banking".
In 2007 on the basis of the order of the rector of the institute the "Accounting and auditing in banks" department was organized. At the moment, the following departments: "Banking", "Accounting and auditing in banks" and " “Uzbek and foreign languages” are working in the faculty.
From November, 2018, on the basis of the order of the rector of the institute Banking faculty has been established on the basis of “Credit-Economy” faculty.
Faculty of Banking prepares educated, mature and deep-rooted cadres in the banking system of the Republic. From the 2019/2020 academic year admission of students for the Banking and Audit direction has been started for supplying banking sector with qualified specialists from the 2020-2021 academic year, the educational directions "Banking" and "Banking and Auditing" are merged and the educational direction "Banking and Auditing" is created. The evidence of the above mentioned is that most of the 3rd year students of the faculty and majority of the fourth-year students have a job placement and have been awarded with scholarships established by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and leading commercial banks.

Faculty of Digital Economy and Information Technologies

Today, digital technologies are actively penetrating all spheres of life in modern society, including the economy. Digitalization of the economy is becoming an important factor in economic growth in the global economy. Therefore, it is important in Uzbekistan to ensure accelerated digital development of sectors of the economy, the social sphere and the public administration system. Ensuring the achievement of these goals requires analytical and scientific-methodological research and innovative changes. Such changes require the training of highly qualified specialists with theoretical and analytical knowledge and skills to work in the digital economy.
Since the digital economy is one of the fastest growing areas in the world, the Faculty of Digital Economics and Information Technologies of the Tashkent State University of Economics trains personnel with high-quality experience and qualified human potential. This is achieved through educational programs covering the areas of digital economy, artificial intelligence, statistics, economic and information security, information systems and technologies in the economy.
History of the Faculty of Digital Economics and Information Technologies began with the admission of students in the specialty “Organization of automated processing of economic information” in 1963. In 1968, with the opening of the specialty “Economic Cybernetics”, the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics was created. Due to the rapid penetration of digital technologies into all spheres of people’s lives, from 2020 the faculty was renamed to the Faculty of Digital Economics and in 2024 the name of the faculty changed to Digital Economics and Information Technologies.
More than 100 professors and teachers of the faculty provide modern knowledge and practical skills necessary for training competitive specialists in the labor market in the field of information systems and technologies, digital economy, artificial intelligence, statistics, economic and information security.

FACULTY OF INTERNATIONAL TOURISM
About the faculty
In the development of the national economy of our republic, the economic and service sectors operate stably and reliably, demonstrating high performance. Strengthening the independence of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and creating a solid economic foundation require modernization of the economy in various areas. One of the important conditions for the economic development of the country is the effective use of tourism services with the consistent penetration of goods and services into world markets. Personnel training in the field of tourism is an important factor in the implementation of this process. Resolution of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimov dated June 30, 1999 “On the training of qualified personnel for the tourism sector in Uzbekistan” and Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 2, 1999. The Faculty of Tourism was created on the basis of Resolution No. 324 of July “On measures to improve the personnel training system for the tourism sector in Uzbekistan.” Currently, the faculty trains highly qualified personnel for all sectors of the economy in the areas of “Tourism (by type of activity)”, “Organization and management of the hotel industry”, without taking them away from production. It is worth noting that the training of specialists in the direction of “Management: management of tourism business” is being implemented for the first time since the 2020-2021 academic year based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In addition, in order to train personnel that meet the requirements of the new era, qualified specialists from ministries, large enterprises and organizations are attracted to teach at the faculty.
The Faculty of International Tourism operates on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education”, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures to ensure the academic and organizational and managerial independence of state higher educational institutions”, relevant orders and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Decrees from the university rector.
Bachelor's degree curricula and scientific programs are being improved based on the experience of leading universities in foreign countries in collaboration with international experts. The educational process of students and masters of the faculty is based on a full credit-module system.
In accordance with the educational schedule established during pre-graduation practice, students undergo training at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Agency for Statistics, applying their theoretical knowledge in practice in regional, and district Khakimiyats, commercial banks, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other service organizations and enterprises have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, and during the internship they have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current news, instructions, decisions and laws.

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT
In the development of the national economy of our republic, the financial and banking system has been operating stably and reliably and has been showing high indicators. It is important to further reform and increase the stability of the republic's financial and banking system. It is in this respect that the Faculty of "International Economic Relations" was established by order of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 28, 1990. From October 3, 2011, the faculty operated under the name of "Investment activity" and from January 2, 2013, according to the order of the university the name of the faculty was changed to «Banking". From 2016 to 2023, the faculty functionated under the name "Corporate Governance". Since September 4, 2023, it has been operating under the new name of Business Administration.
Faculty of Management runs its activity on the basis of Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “About Education", Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Additional measures to ensure academic and organizational-management independence of state higher education institutions", the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, relevant orders and instructions of the rector of the university.

About the faculty
Order No. 21 of February 3, 2005 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the order of the rector of the institute dated 2005 Based on the order No. 137 dated August 27, the Faculty of Taxation and Insurance was established on the basis of the "Taxes and Taxation" and "Insurance" educational directions, which are being prepared at the Faculty of Finance and Economics. In accordance with the organizational structure of the Tashkent Financial Institute agreed with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 25, 2018 and the order of the Rector of the Institute No. 754 dated November 3, 2018, the Faculty of Insurance Taxes and Insurance was changed to faculty. Since the establishment of the faculty, Doctor of Economics, Professor A.S. Joraev (2005-2006), Doctor of Economics, Professor M.I. Almardonov (2006-2011), Candidate of Economics U.A. Radjabov (2011-2014, 2015-2017), Doctor of Economics, led by professor D.R. Rustamov (2014-2015), candidate of economic sciences, associate professor G’. A. Safarov (2018-2019). Since November 2019, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor L.S. Zoyirov has been leading the faculty. The main goal of the faculty today is to organize the studies of students in the fields of "Taxes and taxation" and "Insurance work" and train highly qualified personnel on this basis. Undergraduate personnel trained at the faculty work in various sectors of our republic, namely the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the State Tax Committee, the State Statistics Committee, the State Competition Committee, the Central Bank, Insurance companies, as well as financiers, economists and other positions in enterprises, firms and companies in various areas of the economy. Meetings with enterprises and organizations for graduates are organized by the specialized departments of the faculty every year. Mutual relations of cooperation between the faculty and staff customers have been established. In particular, large-scale work is being carried out within the framework of "Integration of higher education - science - production" with Ministries, Committees, enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership, banks, investment institutions and other business entities. Within the framework of the "National Personnel Training Program" in order to train highly qualified personnel in our society, the management of the institute and the students of the faculty are organizing classes to deepen and improve their professional knowledge in their field. In recent years, the students of the faculty have been taking important places in the Republican Science Olympiads held in the fields of specialization. In particular, in the 2019-2020 academic year, Kurbanova Shahzoda Rakhimjon's daughter participated in the Republican Science Olympiad in "Macroeconomics. Microeconomics" and won the first place. Also, it is becoming a tradition for the faculty to win republic-wide competitions. In the 2019-2020 academic year, ST-40 group student Akhmedova Maftuna Yusuf's daughter became the winner of the State Scholarship named after the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the 2018-2019 academic year. Faculty of TDIU-PENDIDICAN International Double Degree Program
About Faculty
Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approval of the concept of development of the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” dated October 8, 2019 No. PF-5847 and “Higher and secondary special education on measures to introduce new principles of management into the system” of July 11, 2019 PQ-4391, to ensure the implementation of the tasks, as well as the cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign partner higher education organizations a joint educational program was organized between the Tashkent State University of Economics and the Indonesian University of Education in order to organize the training of students based on the mutual agreement. Since October 10, 2022, this joint educational program has been operating under the name “TDIU-Pendidikan International Double Degree Program”.
TDIU-Pendidikan International Double Degree Program operates based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 421 dated July 6, 2021.
Curricula and science programs of undergraduate courses and master's specialties have been improved based on the experiences of partner universities and leading higher education institutions of foreign countries. The educational process of students and masters of the department is based on the full credit-module system. The organization of the educational process on the basis of 3+1 for undergraduate education, and on the basis of 1+1 for master's specializations is defined in the memorandum signed between the two universities.

The international double degree program of the Tashkent State University of Economics and the IMV University of Applied Sciences Krems, Austria was established in 2018. Currently, students in this program are enrolled in two bachelor's programs, International Business Management (formerly: Export-Oriented Management) and Tourism and Leisure Management. Simultaneous teaching of local and foreign professors in the faculty creates an educational environment for students that meets international standards. In particular, 30-40% of professors and teachers are from IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, and the rest are leading specialist teachers with international educational experience. The program was accredited by Austrian Quality Assurance - AQ (Austrian Quality Assurance Inspection) in 2019.
Teaching is conducted based on the curriculum of IMC University of Applied Sciences, ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). For this reason, students have the opportunity to study at the main campus of IMC University in Austria, as well as at prestigious universities in developed countries such as Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and Sweden based on the student exchange program.
While studying in this program, students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. In particular, special attention is paid to the formation of leadership and personal skills. Currently, there are international students from countries such as China, Russia and India studying here, for whom the university has created dormitories and other facilities. Necessary conditions are being created in our country to strengthen the integration of young people in science, education and production. In particular, within the framework of the joint educational programs implemented in the joint faculty of the university in cooperation with foreign higher education institutions:
- mutual coordination and optimization of curricula and science programs of undergraduate (specialty) educational areas and master's specialties in cooperation with foreign higher education institution(s) in order to effectively organize the educational process under the joint educational program(s);
- a diploma recognized in the country where the foreign partner higher education organization is located and a diploma of the state model of the Republic of Uzbekistan are provided for the completion of tasks provided for the graduate who successfully completed the joint education program.
In 2023, 103 students successfully graduated from the joint faculty and today are working effectively in various sectors of our country's economy.
